Balsam Ridge Lincoln was born 30 June 2004. His sire is Cloudburst Kennebec River and his dam is Balsam Ridge Katherine (our Katie). Lincoln is the latest addition to the Balsam Ridge pack and he is fitting in just fine. We have great expectations for this little boy. He is the fifth generation of a cross line started by Bob and Connie Jones of WoodsRunner Chinooks. In 2005, the COA changed the cross line rules to allow all 4th generation cross dogs to apply for purebred status. In April 2005, Katie applied, was evaluated and accepted as a UKC-registered purebred Chinook. Therefore, all her pups are purebred Chinooks as well, including Lincoln.

On Labor Day 2004, Lincoln had a wonderful time visiting with 3 of his sisters and his sire, Kenne. Below is a photo of Kenne and his pups,

Lincoln is an eager sled dog and did a great job running with the big dogs pulling sleds his first year. Maybe it was all the practice he had as a pup pulling a toy sled in the grass?!
