Becoming a Paid Sponsor

What does becoming a Paid Sponsor mean?
Becoming a Paid Sponsor simply means that you have paid a one-time fee to place an ad of your making into a Stormscape Creations release of your choosing.
Each ad you buy is a stand-alone transaction and involves no future obligations.


What form should my ad take?
In addition to keeping it simple and making sure your ad conveys the information you want it to clearly and quickly, your ad should follow these specifications:
  • 640X480 or 800X450 resolution, depending on the project to which it is going to be attached.
  • MPEG-4 Encoding, 16-bit audio at 44khz
  • 30 Frames Per Second, non-interlaced.

Is there a limit on an ad's content?
This will be determined on a case-by-case basis, but as long as your ad is not extremely obnoxious or slanderous, it is probably okay.


What is the limit on ads per project?
Five, on a first come, first serve basis. Room will be allowed for up to two ads at the beginning and three at the end of each project. If there is high demand, only one ad per buyer will be allowed.


How much will it cost to buy an ad?
The shot answer? Not much. As for the long answer...
Pricing is based upon a number of factors and breaks down as follows:

Attatching an ad to the beginning of a project:
  • First slot: $15.00 per second, up to a limit of 12 seconds. (Your ad will be the very first thing seen when the project is played.)
  • Second slot: $10.00 per second, up to a limit of 10 seconds. (Your ad will be placed after all other logos and ads at the beginning.)
Attatching an ad to the end of a project:
  • First slot: $6.00 per second, up to a limit of 10 seconds. (Your ad will be the very first thing seen after the project is over, before the actual credits.)
  • Second slot: $2.50 per second, up to a limit of 30 seconds. (The second-to-last thing seen.)
  • Third slot: $2.00 per second, up to a limit of 30 seconds. (Your ad will be the last thing seen.)

Am I getting my money's worth?
Machinima is an exponentially growing artform based on viral distribution and as such, the chances of a fairly large number of people being exposed to your ad both initially and over an extended timeframe are good. Even so, attaching your ad to a Stormscape Project is very cheap compared with similar exposure levels in other mediums. There are no plans at this time to increase prices if Stormscape Creations becomes far more popular than it currently is.
If you buy an add, you will not be charged until the project to which it is attached has been released.


Am I someone who can buy an ad?
Yes! There are no prerequisites for who can buy an ad.
