Positive Pups & Ponies Learning Center is located in West Dover, Delaware and provides education opportunities for the tri-state region. Beth Peterson CPDT, DCVA, CTP, MR (owner, lead instructor, coach & evaluator) has over 35 years of animal husbandry experience with multiple certifications and licenses supporting her knowledge and abilities. Beth began working with animals and their people in the early 1970's, and has been successfully coaching the residents of Delaware in positive-reinforcement companion animal training methods since the late 1980's when she arrived in-state. The results have been outstanding - shy dogs have bloomed into active Visiting Emotional Therapy teammates. Reactive (labeled aggressive), dogs have discovered how to relax and enjoy their life with people. House pets have become true working partners, successful performance dogs, as well as winners at dog shows and trials. All dogs are taught by their people, who are coached by Beth, during small group classes, private sessions or workshops. Multiple tri-state Veterinary Hospitals, SPCAs, Shelters, rescue groups, previous students and the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary College Behavioral Center recommend Beth's techniques and Learning Center for their clients and friends - particularly for people wanting to rehabilitate their animals with issues. Beth works with the DE SPCA, Kent County SPCA, DE Humane and multiple rescue groups in conducting temperament evaluation, education programs and placement of intense animals. Beth provides the same type of positive reinforcement education with horses, ponies, pocket pets, cats, reptiles and birds - coaching, advising, encouraging and evaluating the human members of these teams as they work with their companions. If you are looking to help your new pup start out right - look into Beth's Foundation class - now including the AKC's STAR Puppy evaluation and award for teams completing all requirements. To get a little help with the foundations or to further the bond or teamwork with your adult dog - take a peek at Back to Basics. If you're looking for something fun for both you & your well trained dog, try out one of Beth's other courses - the AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen), Introduction to Rally, Intro to Agility, Visiting with Your Companion (aka Therapy Dogs or Pet Partners). Another track that may interest you is Caring Touch - the result of Beth's love of animals and ongoing Practitionerships in Tellington TTouch & TTEAM Bodywork, Reiki, Theraputic Touch, Massage and Hospice Caring Hands. Beth combines aspects of these lovely, caring works into relaxing and enjoyable learning sessions for all members. All of these courses are offered as small group (usually limited to only 4-6 teams) classes, workshops and/or private sessions. |
