Anachronistic Region

The Anachronistic Region is a group of model railroaders who focus on the operations of moving cars among industries and yards. We  meet on Tuesday evenings at different layouts distributed from near Catholic U. to Damascus. Five layouts are in operation and two more are in construction.

Two layouts have web pages:
We've pretty much moved to Digitrax. Layout sizes range from 8 x 10 to 20 x 22. One O-scale, the rest HO. Different layouts use car cards and manually-made switch lists. We have experimented with computer-generated switch lists, but haven't been successful yet.

We've been together over 25 years. We attribute that to our  major rule that the owner of the railroad makes the rules.

At present we are not looking for any new members. But we are happy to entertain visitors who are interested in seeing how operations can be fun. Send email.
