Grave Marker for Sho-Go (Zeto's dog) *Note below

When operations moved into the new building at Zeto in 1971 Sho-Go was not permitted inside. Several watch standers expressed an interest in taking her home when their tour was up on Adak. However, during the ceremonial opening of the building Sho-Go was reported to have bitten an officer from Washington. Shortly afterward she was taken without notice to the dump and shot to the horror of all who loved her. The grave marker in front of the new building was symbolic only. When news spread of what had happened, her remains were removed in the middle of the night from a shallow grave at the dump, and she was buried at another more suitable location.
