We give a card to Mr. Hau our teacher and and orchid and card
to
Betty Buckwalter for being nice enough to treat us to dinner during the
Nan Hai exhibit.

ASACA took a group trip up to a Lotus Garden in Modesto. It's
hard
to believe that such a thing exists but here are a couple of photos to
prove it.

of
the exhibitors a wonderful little teapot as a remembrance.

Hau Pei-Jen (Paul J. Hau) was born in China in 1917. He
studied
calligraphy, poetry and painting under the Chinese Masters Huang
Bin-Hong and Xheng Shi-Qian. He also attended the National Normal
University in Beijing and completed studies at the Kyushu Imperial
University in Japan. Hau Pei-Jen moved from mainland China to Hong Kong
in 1948 and came to the United States in 1956. Mr. Hau has taught
Chinese brush painting in Palo Alto since 1957 and is an Honorary
Professor of TianJin Institute of Art, TianJin, China.
She has studied with Mr. Hau for over twenty years and has been teaching in the Bay area for seventeen years. She has had many exhibitions in Taiwan, China and the United States. She has been painting for thirty six years and has a Masters degree.
