Finished Footwell. The tiles are stick-on vinyl from Home Depot.
You sure find out how square your trailer is when you install the
tiles. I would lay them all out first before sticking them down. The
table is a piece of 1/2" plywood finished with spar urethane.
7/17/05 Open Footwell. The bracket at the bottom is to receive the pedestal for
the table. I made the footwell according to the dimensions in the plans
and then ended up widening the opening after Jean and I sat
side-by-side in it .
7/17/05 Table set up in footwell. No plans for the table. We just sat in it and
moved the table around till it felt right.
7/17/05 Table set up on outside of Tear. I got all the hardware for the table
at TJ Trailers. There's a bracket on the other side as well so we can
use the table on either side.
7/17/05 Cushions for couch. The cushions lay flat for the bed.
9/25/05 Tongue mounted grill. We tried it out with some chicken and it works
great. Its nice that we don't have to haul around the greasy grill in
the trailer or in the truck. The galley doesn't get grease spatters all
over it either. We now use a camping stove for any food that requires a
burner.
9/25/05 The grill is shaped like a slice of pie so it follows the tongue.
9/25/05 I had to offset it a little to the side to make room for the tongue
jack.
12/11/05 This is a vent in the bulkhead wall down in the footwell. It allows air
to circulate from the top of the cabin down to the footwell. This keeps
all the hot air from rising and staying up by the ceiling. Since the
fans are behind the upper cabin cabinet door, its not very loud. I
wasn't sure that the enough air would travel through all the gaps in
the cabinets but it works great. It also keeps the galley warm so all
our food doesn't freeze.
12/15/05 Upper shelves. The cabinets are really too tall for most of the stuff
we put in there. The shelves doubled our storage. There's still a
little room under the sink for taller items.
12/15/05 Lower shelves to keep stove, lantern and propane bottles from rolling around. There's also a cutting board behind the propane.
1/13/06 New coupler. The coupler supplied with the trailer is hard to use
because it screws on and is tough to unscrew. I had to use a hammer to
beat it off. Hopefully, this one will just come off when the
lever is flipped up.
1/21/06 I replaced my fluorescent tubes with LED strip lights. The
fluorescent tubes kept burning out in cold weather. I tore out
the guts of the light and installed LED strips. My current draw went
from 1.2 amps to 0.4 amps with the conversion. The LEDs shouldn't have
any trouble with cold weather and should last longer 5 times longer fluorescent, 20 times longer than incandescent.
