COMPLAINT REGARDING DEALERSHIP GRESHAM JEEP
IN OREGON
Comments:
---------
I had such a horrible experience with this dealership that I must tell
someone
responsible for them so it doesn't happen to others. I went to
this dealership
because I had a very loud noise in my brakes. The service dept.
inspected my 99
Jeep Wrangler Sahara and after about 45 minutes, called me back to
discuss what
was "wrong" with my Jeep. He handed me a print out and said he
has deemed my
Jeep as "unsafe" and that it will go in the database UNLESS I have
their service
department fix my brakes for nearly $1200. This was only the rear
brakes and my
Jeep had less than 25000 miles at the time. I asked what was
wrong and they
said the emergency brake was broken and the right rear brake drums were
warped.
After adding up the parts and service charges, that's what he came up
with. I
was so shocked that I stood there and cried. I felt as if I'd
just been told
that I one of my children needed surgery I couldn't afford. I
called my
ex-husband and told him what happened and!
he said they were "stroking me" and to get out of there. I was so
shook up I
could hardly deal with this. I drove my daughter to her school
daily and myself
to and from work. How was I going to do this without my
Jeep? Especially now
that this dealership had "branded" it as an "unsafe" vehicle. I
took the Jeep
to a Jeep specialist and he took all the wheels off and looked over the
brakes.
He took them apart and could not find a single thing wrong with
it. He showed
me in great detail the amount of brakes I had left and what they would
look like
if they were "unsafe". Now I was furious! How dare this
dealership take
advantage of me. What if I had just handed over the $1200 and had
my brakes
fixed when they didn't need fixing? Now I have over 30,000 miles
on my Jeep and
haven't had one instance of trouble with the brakes. I have had
them checked
twice since the dealership incident and they are still in "good"
shape. All I
want from you is to have the "unsafe" brand!
t!
aken OFF your dealership records. I would also like the service
department to
be held responsible and own up to a huge mistake like this. I
would also like
an apology. I enjoy my Jeep very much and am so dissapointed that
my local Jeep
dealership is a place of business that I do not trust nor want to do
business
with again. I have told everyone I can about this incident to
make sure they
use common sense before handing over their hard earned money to a shady
dealership. Sincerely, Juli Link
