-Unless otherwise stated here, the Cape High League follows high school MIAA. All teams are required to display good sportsmanship and shake hands after each game. This does not apply if a referee has asked a player to leave.

-C.H.L reserves the right to deny any team the right to participate, in the case that any financial obligations/ fees have not been paid according to the timeline announced. This will be discussed at the mandatory meeting on TBA. All fees are non-negotiable and non refundable. This will be strictly enforced.

-Coaches are required to arrive at least one half hour prior to the games. It will also be the coaches responsibility to stay until the last player has left the locker room. All locker rooms are expected to be checked for cleanliness, with showers and faucets off, with the door locked during and  after games.

-All players are required to wear the appropriate equipment on the ice at all times. Proper safety equipment such as mouth guards and ear pieces are a must. Any player not complying will be sent off the ice.

-Under absolutely no circumstances is fighting allowed. If a player is caught fighting he/ she will be immediately dismissed from the league. No questions asked, no appeals, no refund, or the chance to participate in the Fall league. A letter will also be sent to high school coaches.

- Each game will last 50 minutes, with a 3 minute warm-up. Penalties will be 1:30. There are no time-outs... delay of game penalties will be called if an excessive amount of time has been taken towards the end of the game.

-If under any circumstances, a team has an absent goalie, the team has the right to substitute another goalie from another team, rather than forfeit the game. (The goalie chosen must be at or below the level of the team).

-The coaches will not be permitted to say anything to the referees. Each team will have a captain and two assistant captains designated on the game sheet; they will be the teams representatives when communicating with the referees.

-The three penalty rule will be enforced. Upon a third penalty, the player will be asked to leave the ice. If a player has three penalties, two games in a row, they will be required to sit out the next game.

-C.H.L reserves the right to ask any player, coach, spectator or fan to leave the game and rink.

-C.H.L reserves the right to abruptly end a game if an administrator feels as if anything is getting out of control.

-With regards to open team rosters: If a player plays for a team even once- they may not play for any other team for the remainder of the league. To participate in play-offs, a team member must also have played in at least two games. This will be closely monitored.

-The top four teams (with the best record) make the playoffs. Tie-breakers include goal against goal, for head to head, a coin flip. Teams 1 and 4 will be play-and teams 2 and 3. If the playoff game ends in a tie, a 5 minute overtime will be allowed. If the teams remain tied, there will be a shoot out. Each team will pick 5 shooters (prior to the game) who will each have one shot.
