Welcome to the Castlewalls Coreldraw 9 Tutorial page!
Here's where I'll post some (hopefully) usable tutorials and examples for creating FRPG map components and floorplans. Feel free to email questions.... or to ask how I managed to create any of these things, that's what I'm here for!
I also kept the comments from the old guestbook at the bottom to feed my ego a bit...;>)

Here is a Coreldraw 9 seamless wood floor tutorial. (300k zip of 2 jpgs & a txt file)
This is a greatly reduced thumbnail, don't bother to save it!

Here's a seamless stone floor tile. HERE is the Tutorial. (1.2 meg zip of 4 jpgs & a txt file)
The second smaller one is basically the same thing but the pattern is inverted.

Here's a quick Coreldraw tutorial to make & shade stairs that may be repeatable with any vector based program(?). Feel free to let me know if some things are not clarified properly.

New experiments in full color miniature scale, all objects/items/textures are real.

A small example made for a friend includes a few PNG trees from the Dundjinni demo...

A quick experiment in miniature scale to see what it would look like.

The above in exploded view - all vectors with fills....

Very old sample from Castlewalls Nellysyr Manor showing the use of "landscape" fill patterns courtesy of Patrick Nilsson's Harn patterns..

Sample cavern from www.dundjinni.com

My quick 30 minute version using Coreldraw 9. The 3Dish look of the surrounding "walls" is achieved by using Corel Photopaints plastic plugin effect.

Castlewalls Indell Keep's dungeon extruded, purely much an experiment on my part.
It also shows how the CW seamless stone fill patterns look too...

Some comments about the CW floorplans & website:
(Testing Time dungeon comments)
Pendragon - Thanks, excellent dungeon - I'll definately use it.
Ictus - Excellent detail, reminds me of the old ravenloft plans, but better drawn.

Kedrake - That is a thing of beauty.

J. Fletcher - I'm really impressed, the maps look fantastic.

Lorne M. - Nice job on the KD. I wish I could draw like that. In particular, I liked the black shading you used
to denote low-lying areas, and the stone texture you used as a background.
The differences really are in the details, and you out-do yourself in the little things with each new drawing.

Mike R. -
Looked at your website properly today - it looks fantastic. I especially liked your house design/sketch.
Absolutely fantastic. I also really liked the alternate website designs you had on there.
The image with the stone castle turning into wireframe mesh was pure class.

Jill -
WOW! Beautiful work. I'm speechless.

Wolfgang B. -
Looks pretty good...

John B. -
I came across your website and was quite impressed by your floorplans.
I have rarely seen such finitely detailed maps before. Keep up the good work!

Visited your site and enjoyed it! I did look over the plans and was impressed.
I do think they are cool plans and should be usable by most DM's.

I just downloaded the map (the miniature scale sample of Nellysyr Manor). What an magnificent piece of art.
I just hope that I could do something like that. Wow!

I have searched long and hard for floorplan examples. I have to honestly
say that this site (Dragonsfoot) has the best floorplans I have seen.
