The
orchestra pit in a small alcove to the side

Above:
Notice the black 1/4 inch thick angle iron under the bedroom floor...
Below:
and the 1/4 inch thick steel plate spanning the 'front' of the bedroom floor -
nothing's to good for the safety of our actors.
Not enough thanks can be said
to the Girards! My heroes and heroines! This set would not be built if not for
them!
Two
generations of Girards - our amazing set builders!
Above:
rehersal on the as yet unfinished set.
Below: more rehersals on the 'a bit
more finished' set.
Notice the small 'window' on the left wall. Mr.
Blakeslee looked through it
and was the only one who could see what was going
on the set for cues until
Friday where we had a tv/vcr setup back there to
record the production.
We actually made 2 'windows' for a better view...

A
base coat of paint & an upstairs wall & new proper fireplace. The set
model sits on the floor in front.
We almost put the band in front of the stage
as has been done in previous productions (more off to the side actually)
but
the band was too big and blocked too much...
