John Ashcroft polishes his Vegas lounge act.
Oh man! This is just TOO good!
From CNN back in Feb. How did we miss this?! I hope the link works. If not, you MUST go to MichaelMoore.com
and click "Is this man crazy?" over the picture of Ashcroft. The man missed his calling as a karaoke superstar!
You wont be disappointed! Chlora

New Link- Baghdad Burning
Thanks to The River where I found this blog of daily life of a young woman and her family in Baghdad.
Once you start reading you wont be able to stop.
Dear...Riverbend,
I've been reading your blog all day. I started with your earliest entry at around noon and have just finished. Its about 5pm now. I feel funny calling you Riverbend. But that's what youve decided to call yourself. You could be my daughter.
I'm a blogger as well, but after spending the day reading yours, my silly insignificant blog seems even more silly and insignificant. (If you want to waste a little time it's "Pernicious Bloggage by Chlora Form the Cat")
I dont know, you might like some of it. Sometimes I try to be funny. Sometimes I politically rant. I've been doing my small part in trying to stop the war since before Congress voted on it over a year ago.
Im having a problem thinking of what to say to you. I've been on the verge of tears since I started reading. I am so deeply moved and I am so, so, very sorry for what you and your family and your people are going through.
I wish that strength of wishes and words and anger and frustration could stop bombs and bullets and fear. If they could- this would all be over and probably would never have started.
The only thing I can think of that might help is a peace movement. You dont speak of any peace movement in your blog. I just think of John Lennon. How can anyone find fault with a popular movement of peace and love? I know it probably sounds naive. But what if people started distributing flyers espousing love and peace and brotherhood instead of fear and hatred? If it became popular enough even the governing council would have to listen. I dont know, it's just a thought. It got alot started and alot done in this country and Europe in the 60's. (Even though the current administration has done it's best to roll us back to the 50's.)
As you probably know, (even though it doesnt get much time on CNN) there is a very popular and vocal movement in this country to get rid of the Bush administration and (unless they steal it again) they will be gone in a year and hopefully on their way to prison. They deserve much worse.
I will be thinking of you and your family every day and what you are facing just trying to live a normal life as I try to live mine. What regular, everyday things that I would normally not think twice about would be like for you. And how lifes little frustrations for me are nothing in comparison to what you have to go through.
I am going to put a link to Baghdad Burning at my blog. I was trying to think of how to introduce you, but I think maybe I'll just post this letter.
Thank you. Hang in there. My best to your family.

I have a cold sore. I havent had a cold sore in years. It's on my lip but seems to take up my entire face.
Except for the huge zit on my chin.
My right lower eyelid has been twitching for over a week. I cant have a conversation face to face with anyone without, at some point, them looking distracted and saying, "Is your eyelid twitching?"
I am a mutant. I am diseased. I am the Elephant Woman. I am drinking hot coffee through a straw. I am smoking only on the left side of my mouth. All of these things are caused by stress. I dont FEEL stressed. I must be internalizing so well my stress is mani-festering itself all over my face. I am a freak.
Why cant I just have a migraine or diarrhea or something less noticeable? A raging yeast infection would be fine. Tonight I work night 8 of 8 then have a few days off to heal myself. Saturday night Im supposed to go to a party. I may attend with a bag over my head. Just suck margaritas through a hole in the bag. Lots of 'em. THAT'S IT!!! I have a tequila deficiency!
