Hello and welcome to my site. This site is primarily a resource
for aspiring guitar players and musicians. The links at left take
you to a few different types of pages. The Blues Guitar Primer Series
links take you to "sample" guitar lessons. These pages
are excerpts from my guitar manuals that are the springboards for
material that I cover with my private guitar students. Please feel
free to e-mail me with any
general questions on how this material is covered in private lessons.
I am also planning on offering group lessons soon and this will
be the basis of these courses as well. The
open d material is not up yet.
The fourth link takes you to a paper
I wrote on the Development of Slide Guitar Traditions for completion
of my bachelor's degree from the University of Washington's Ethnomusicollogy
program in 1998. At present these pages are just html versions of
the paper without any hypertext or multimedia files added. I hope
to be doing this in the near future so please check back to see
the progress on this endeavor.
The third category of links are "general
music and guitar resources". These pages are links to other
websites that have provided a lot of knowledge and inspiration to
the me and I think you will find them useful as well. I've also
annotated the general music resources page and as I get the guitar
resources pages done these will be annotated as well. The Guitar
resources aren't up yet but soon will be.
In addition to the open d lessons
and guitar resources which are in development there is also a new
link section on "esoteric" music sources. This will include
harmonics (theory and chant), intonation systems, as well as sound
healing resources. These will be up in the near future.
I've spent a lot of time and energy
in trying to share something that I really love with you and hope
these pages convey even a small amount of the inspiration that I
wish they provide.
