Policy a: Extremely rude or obnoxious behavior by members is unacceptable.
Procedure: Staff inquiry. If violation is established, one warning by email. If behavior continues, penalties will result.
Policy b: Members must play matches with opponents of lower ladder rank as well as higher ladder rank.
Procedure: Staff inquiry. If violation is established, one warning by email. If problem continues loss of rank.
Policy c: Members must be ranked in top 20 to directly ask for a match with members ranked in top 10. Top 10 may ask for or accept match with any rank, but must not avoid others in top 10.
Procedure: Staff inquiry. If violation is established, one warning by email. If problem continues loss of rank.
Policy d: Members must not avoid playing the member on rung directly below them when in league room at same time.
Procedure: Staff inquiry. If violation is established, one warning by email. If problem continues loss of rank.
Policy e: If a member has multiple challengers at once, they may accept either the first player that replies or the highest ranked player that replies from players that reply at basically the same time. Once a player has been accepted, any other player response is moot. Playing the highest rank helps all players move up the ladder more readily and shows good sportsmanship.
Procedure: Staff inquiry. If violation is established, one warning by email. If problem continues loss of rank.
Policy f: A loss should be reported within 5 minutes of the close of the match, and before starting another match. If Case's Ladder reporting is not working, please report the match as soon as possible after it resumes service.
Procedure: Staff inquiry. If violation is established, one warning by email. If problem continues, penalties may be incurred.
Policy g: If Case’s ladder is down, make a note of all matches you play and report them in the order they were played as soon as Case’s is operational. This may cause irregularities in the order that matches are reported by different members, but the ability to keep playing and having fun takes precedence over any such minor changes in the order of reported matches.
Procedure: Failure to report matches at any time is covered in Case’s under the “Reporting the Match” section.
Policy h: If you find any game room chat offensive, please do not engage offending party in conversation. It is best to use the ignore button for that nick, whether they are a member of MidTown or not. If you find yourself in a tournament match with a nick you have on ignore, contact the tournament TD and ask for instructions and help.
Procedure: If a member is engaging in offensive chat with others in game room, they may be put on ignore by fellow members possibly resulting in loss of match opportunities.
Policy i: When playing in a tournament a player cannot be booted more than 2 times or away from the game room more than 8 minutes.
Procedure: On the third boot or after 8 minutes the opponent will be automatically advanced and a loss reported in the tournament.
Policy j: Members should not harangue TDs to set-up tournaments. We respect the contributions of our volunteers and would like them to continue to have time to enjoy the room as a player as well as provide services to the league’s members.
Procedure: Come on, guys. Will you really make us enforce this?
Policy k: TDs will start tourneys within 5 minutes of scheduled start time if at all possible - out of respect for members who registered on time.
Procedure: Members who miss closing of a tournament should ask TD for help learning to access tournament schedules.
Policy l: Members may lose their privilege to belong to MidTown league in extreme circumstances.
Procedure: No one will be expelled from MidTown league without a fair inquiry and a offered a conference with 2 or more members of the Administrative Team.
Policy m: All matches must be arranged in game room chat. When arranging a match, if a player says "call it" to their opponent, that does not obligate them to play the format called. The two players are still actively negotiating which format their match will be played in until a suggested format has been accepted.
Procedure: Staff inquiry. If a player(s) is rude and unsportsmanlike during the match format negotiations, penalties my result.
Policy o: Fair Play Policy: Play the hand you are dealt. Members must play all cards in their hand to the best of their ability. Skipping cards or refusing to turn last cards to manipulate a higher score in a twist format, i.e. reverse score, is not allowed.
Procedure: Penalties my result, to be determined by TD.
