Worms and Wings
Vernal Equinox Celebration 2007
We began
by Learning about the red wigglers –
composting worms that eat our garbage and help build healthy soil.
Naturalist Diane West helped children to identify nests of different species.
Parents and children erected nesting boxes
in the meadow to aid in
bluebird population recovery.
Children learn about behaviors of bluebirds and competitor species
in a game of bluebird and house sparrow.
