2000 Honda CR-250R
I bought this bike in the fall of 2002. It was in immaculate condition, and was incredibly powerful and handled like a dream. When I bought it, I never planned to race it, I just wanted to have another dirt-bike to ride. I hadn't owned one for several years, and it was time to get back into riding.
Almost as soon as I got it, I got the great idea to put some "Elsinore" stickers on it, in kind of a "retro" tribute to the past sort of way. Naturally, I had to contact my old pal Christopher James. CJ, or "Siege" had been racing vintage motocross for some time, and it seemed logical to me that he would know where I might be able to find some reproduction Elsinore stickers. While e-mailing back and forth on this issue, he convinced me to come down to Woodland and watch a VDR NW race. The rest is history. I bought a 1980 YZ465G, and the 2000 CR-250R sat forgotten in the garage. I eventually sold it to finance additional vintage motorcycles.

I didn't do alot to this bike other than replace the dented stock pipe with a Pro-Circuit Platinum pipe. It was a hard hitting bike to start with, and the pipe spread the power out across the whole range. One of the reasons I bought this bike, was to enjoy one more 2 stroke motocrosser before four strokes totally replace them. That will be a sad day, no matter how efficient and cool the four-bangers become. Motocross was meant for 2 strokes, at least to me.

This was a great bike, it just got ecplised by my burgeoning interest in racing Evolution era bikes.
