1991 Suzuki RM-250
I bought this bike brand new in '92. It was a break-up bike. I hadn't had a real MX bike in several years, and I was single, and making good money. I broke up with the woman I'd been dating and, while feeling bad about it, spontaniously stopped at a Suzuki dealer. I left with the RM.
It was a blast. It had gobs of mid-range, and suspension such as I had never had before. I had previously been riding CR500's and so it was very nimble, and I was surprised at how much power it had.
I didn't ride it all that much, as I kept it out at my parents farm, while I lived in an apartment in town. Eventually, I sold it to buy a Jeep CJ-5, which started another one of my passions.
The first day I had it, me and one of my pals, an Expert
racer, went out to a local pit. "Why don't ya let me ride it." he
said. Five minutes later I had a HUMONGEOUS dent in the pipe. Great. Just great.
This is the only picture I have of it, taken just as we were loading it into the
new owners truck when I sold it. He couldn't believe the deal I gave him.
Looking back, neither can I.
