Intermediate Silversmithing

Most of my beginning students enjoy themselves so much that they want to continue learning, and thus they sign up for the next class. In the intermediate class we continue practicing and mastering soldering techniques, including using a soldering pick. We learn curved-bottom bezel making, use of the jewelry saw, and setting abstract shaped stones, among other skills. Students make one large cuff bracelet, and a wide band ring, and if the class is quick, they can sometimes squeeze in a third project such as a simple pair of earrings.
As in the beginning class, I limit each class to 6 people, as I want to provide as much individual attention as I can. Snacks, coffee, and tea are provided. I include stones and silver in the cost of the class, and I have premium stones for an additional cost if you would like something extra special. I have all the tools you will need, so all you need to bring is yourself!
The intermediate class lasts for 5 weeks, and we meet once a week for 4 hours. Generally I schedule the classes from 6-10 pm, and I try to adjust the evening based on new students' schedules, as I know how busy you all are. I have done classes from 5-9 pm as well, and could do this if this works best for a particular group.
The fee for the intermediate class is $200.00 plus a $25 materials fee. Unfortunately, because of a series of no-shows, I have had to institute a policy of requiring a non-refundable deposit of $50 to reserve your spot. When you contact me, I will provide my mailing address so you can send me a check.
My shop is in the Loveland/Fort Collins area, and I have new classes starting every 5 weeks. If you are interested, please email me at:
