IMPORTANT NOTICE: To exit the Rosetta Stone software, please use the bail-out (parachute) button. Keep clicking the bail-out button until you are retunred to the "launch course" screen and then log out. Simply closing the browser screen does not close your connection to the program. When we reach 19 connections at one time, other people cannot log on.

You can go directly to the Online Language Learning Center or you can check out the resources available on this page first. Below I posted the vocabulary for the entire unit with the English definitions. Following the vocabulary, you will find brief explanations of the grammar concepts included in each lesson. Please feel free to give me feedback regarding how this content could be made more useful to you.

To get started, choose Unit 8, Lesson 1. We will be working primarily with skills A & B in the beginning. A is listening with text support, B is listening without text. Many adults are more comfortable starting with text support and then moving on to the pure listening practice later on.

If you want a preview of the materials in each lesson, choose the Preview option. In preview mode, you are in control. Press the button on the inside corner of the picture and the word will be pronounced for you.

The next step is the Guided Exercise. In this section, each word is pronounced for you. Next, a word is pronounced and you are asked to choose the corresponding picture. Once you have mastered all of the words in the lesson, try the delay option--the button with the blindfolded person. Press that button and then choose the guided exercise. The word will be pronounced, but the pictures will be delayed for a few seconds. When they appear, you are asked to choose the corresponding picture.

After these steps, try the test for skill B--the button with the ribbon icon. The minimum score that you should achieve before advancing to the next level is 75%. If you score below that standard, you need more practice.

I changed the format of the lecture notes. Instead of posting them as web pages, I posted them as power point presentations. I am hoping that this will facilitate downloading and printing them.
