US Immigration Laws

Sunday Sep 17 2006  Just a test to see if the sidebar is really back, shows up in local edit.

Saturday Dec 31 Just had to edit some hosted images, will get this thing up again when time permits.

Sunday July 31 Fucking FrontPage borked up the whole site, switching to Dreamweaver.

Sat Apr 23  Due to some horribly misguided business decisions, KFFX and KSLM are no longer running the talk format, and superb programming such as Don Imus, Rick Emerson, Tom Leykis, Phil Hendrie and Clyde Lewis are no longer available here.  Rick and Clyde are, as many of you know, local talent who have garnered an incredibly loyal following and will be sorely missed until they regain their rightful spot on the airwaves.  KISN 97.1 is moving back to its original spot on the dial (91-derful).  97.1 FM will be an eclectic format with a much broader playlist that all of the niche formats that play the same goddamn stuff over and over to death.

Wed Mar 30  Been getting a shitload of scam emails claiming to be from ebay or paypal urging me to "update my account information."  Some of them are laughable in their ineptitude, however the one I just got was quite convincing.  Remember, anyone can go to ebay's site and harvest images, logos, etc to make a convincing email.  What they cannot duplicate is the genuine url.  The link is the giveaway on an otherwise well done theft attempt...click here to save your account from suspension!  when you hover over the link, is in fact not an ebay url.  ebay/paypal has to be a lucrative business for the scammers, find out how ebay advises recognizing and dealing with scams here.

Sunday Mar 13  Long time no update.  Figured the JavaScript snow needed to come down due to the unseasonably warm weather we've been having.  Over 70 degrees this time of year for an extended period is quite unusual, along with the lack of precipitation.  Guess its all going south, as I've heard from a friend at KVGT that they have been getting a huge overage of rainfall.  Read this item off Drudge, I remember back in the 60's there were supersonic jets traveling across country quite often.  Many a time you'd be reading or doing something quietly to have the shit startled out of you by a horrendous sonic boom.  Back then it was something you took in stride, you'd look up into the clear blue and see a silver spec traveling a damn site faster than you'll see now.  And those were the type that used a shitload of power to push a relatively dirty airframe, like the phantom, so the environmental signature was considerably greater than it would be today with cleaner aerodynamics.

Sunday Dec 19  Less than a week till things get back to normal, but a lot, lot longer until things get back to being alright.  Internet snow courtesy of Stephen Chapman..

Monday Dec 13  This just in via email, don't know if its national or NW, but it is good to know:

                           Subject: phone scam

I received a telephone call last evening from an individual identifying himself as an AT&T Service technician who was conducting a test on telephone lines. He stated that to complete the test I should touch nine(9), zero(0), the pound sign (#), and then hang up.

Luckily, I was suspicious and refused.

Upon contacting the telephone company, I was informed that by pushing 90#, you give the requesting individual full access to your telephone line, which enables them to place long distance calls billed to your home phone number.

I was further informed that this scam has been originating from many local jails/prisons. I have also verified this information with UCB Telecom,Pacific Bell, MCI, Bell Atlantic and GTE. Please beware.

DO NOT press 90# for ANYONE.

The GTE Security Department requested that I share this information with EVERYONE I KNOW.

PLEASE pass this on to everyone YOU know.

Sunday Nov 28  Just heard about a security flaw in Winamp, be a real good idea to upgrade to 5.06. Found a few old pictures of the 152 I had years ago, run them through the scanner and they can be seen in all their grainy 110 quality on the photo page.  I see also that the page counters aren't working, need to have a look.....

Thursday Oct 07  'Bout 23 hours left from now (2000pst) to get a crack at the zero time Avid below.  Still sick, having to work through it drags a four day illness out to nine, at least.

Tuesday Oct 05  Got an account suspension notice from (NOT)eBay, forwarded it to their spoof dept, and found the originating IP in the header.  Fired off a kite to the host with a copy of the poorly attempted fraud.  Just got a note from the host that they shut the crooked bastards off.  Moral: don't fux0r with teh l33t.  .

Monday Oct 04  Bah, being sick sucks.  If it were a three day weekend, I might have whipped it in time, but today was a looong day at work.  Just noticed that my man Dennis [had] his Avid Flyer up on ebay, nicely built little plane.  The Corvair mill should make it pull like a Super cub.

Sunday Sep 19  Fixed some dead links on the links page, added some good aviation forums to the mix.  That's where I've been hanging out, lots of good message boards out there.

Tuesday Aug 10  Citing concerns about terrorists crossing the nation's land borders, the Department of Homeland Security announced today that it planned to give border patrol agents sweeping new powers to deport illegal aliens from the frontiers abutting Mexico and Canada without providing the aliens the opportunity to make their case before an immigration judge.  'Bout fuckin' time!

Saturday Aug 07  Perennial NW favorite unsolved mystery D.B.Cooper will be the subject of two shows on Discovery Channel (7 Comcast cable-Salem)  According to an article by Margie Boule, there will be some new evidence and theories presented.  Should be an interesting evening for those of us who enjoy a bit of intrigue.

Sunday Jul 25  Well said on the top ten, Frosty.  Our most pressing problem as a nation is the invasion of these disease ridden fucks.  Got a call from a friend who lives in Las Vegas; there was an illegal mexican working in a fast food restaurant with leprosy.  Fucking leprosy in a goddamn food joint.  Enough is enough, bring the troops back from Iraq and have them KIA border crossers.  Oh, and here's yet another good reason to hate and despise AOL, if you don't already.  That's fucked up on another level, because Utah has generally been known as a strong gun friendly state, somewhat offsetting its whacko cult religion bullshit.  Hell, John Browning hails from there.  Maybe everyone should just not mention the fact that they have a trunk load of artillery.

Saturday Jul.17  Long time, no newsworthy stuff happening, see two entries below.  Anyone that's been around here before knows that I have a great love for all that is South Park; Matt and Trey made a couple cartoon episodes for Shockwave, who deemed them unusable on their site due to the utter heinousness of the content.  Of course its great, and can be seen here.

Thursday Jun.03  Found a couple of good sites to share, one is for free sites that require registration to use, like TVguide, or a lot of newspaper sites.  This site will give you a way in without all the spam that you'd get from signing up with your email, etc.  The other is a delightful little flash game where you are a giant and fry people like ants with a giant magnifying glass,  It rawks!

Saturday May 29  Hideously long time between updates, that's what happens when you work all the goddamn time.  Not a whole lot of interest going on, at least that I'm aware of.  The EAA B-17 suffered a gear collapse; this is the one that was up here almost a year ago, scroll down to the Jun entries for some more links.

Friday Apr.23  What does Fox TV do when they get a totally original, unique new show?  They cancel it.  Take a look here to see what's being done to keep Wonder Falls alive.

Saturday Mar.06  'Bout a months worth of news & stuff, so here goes:

The state of Oregon, in a petty fit of pique over having the voters tell them that they are a bunch of irresponsible tossers and not  to be trusted with additional tax revenue, retroactively raised vehicle registration nearly 100%.  Such fuckers!                                               dogbomb.co.uk seems to be sorted out, was just a minor skirmish, not a full fledged political purge.  It's a great site, drop on by.         Big shakeup at Entercom, who are moving radio station formats about.  As mentioned at the top of the page, and here.  For a good finger on the pulse of local radio, check out pdxradio.  I'm sure other markets have a similar site as well.                                                 As heard on C2CAM a while back, did Eisenhower meet with extraterrestrials in 1954?  Interesting paper here.

Sunday Feb.08  Black Friday over at dogbomb, they had a massive kill off of all the conservative posters.  Too bad, it is a good site.

Tuesday Feb.03  In a rare display of common sense, the voters of Oregon soundly defeated a measure that would retroactively increase our income taxes.  Even liberal Multnomah county, the bastion of liberalism in the northwest defeated this measure.  For most people, being faced with a ballot that offered you a choice between, say a new dvd player or being rogered with a chain saw, it would be an easy choice.  My faith in the populace is somewhat restored.

Saturday Jan.31  Tried going to Costco today, traffic was backed up all the way onto Mission Street, a good 1/3 to 1/2 mile from the parking lot.  Found out later from a nice girl at Grocery Outlet that it was probably people prepping up for the super bowl.  Yet another case where something I couldn't care less about disrupts life.  How anyone can get so hyped up about a bunch of overage adolescents wearing tights and fighting over a dead animal skin is beyond me.  Such fuckers.  On a positive note, I imagine that tomorrow during the game will be a good time to go shopping.  Half.com is a great place to find books, especially if you don't want to wait for an auction to bid out.  I do love books, me.

Sunday Jan.25  Flash games: Russian roulette, and bumping the suicide bomber to the top, as part of the theme.  Got the new Winamp 5.01 a while back, its good.  Integrated radio and some tv, but the 13 year olds hog all the porn feeds all the time.  Still well worth the upgrade; link button on the sidebar to your left.  Culled a couple years worth of entries off this page, was getting rather long, and outdated.

Wednesday Jan.07  Freezing rain, nowhere else  have I encountered this phenomenon.   Got a few pics of the car competely encapsulateda tree loaded up, and icicles over the fence.  Needless to say, this is the most treacherous driving conditions imaginable, and there has been very few vehicles out and about, mostly electric utility and public works rigs.  Good day to stay home and listen to Phil Hendrie.

Saturday Jan.03  A whole new year, and boy did we get slammed with the snow.  Got a lot on the Sunday after Christmas, about six inches here on the valley floor which is a rarity indeed, as this is not typical snow country.  More fell on the 31st, so everything was covered again.  We're supposed to get more this Sunday.  Another way funny MJ flash game.

Friday Dec.26  Day after Christmas, down come all the dead links for another year.  This just in from Glenn:

STOP AMNESTY DO NOT SHOP ON MONDAY, JANUARY 12

Send Bush a Message in Mexico

See this story about the plans for an amnesty deal in Mexico.
http://www.washtimes.com/upi-breaking/20031212-025708-2243r.htm

NO PLACE TO GO?

Carl Rove is advising President Bush that he can shove amnesty down our throats because
the people have -- NO PLACE TO GO, -- i.e., both parties support the move. Since he
says we have -- NO PLACE TO GO, -- we should all GO NO PLACE on Monday,
January 12, the first day of Bush's visit with Mexican President Fox in Mexico City.

Do no shopping on Monday, January 12. Buy nothing. Stay home from the movies and
restaurants, etc.

If enough Americans do this, Bush will be forced to back down on amnesty and begin
enforcing our immigration laws.

We must do this.

Spread the word.

Sunday Dec.07  Pretty much same as last year, been raining like a dirty bastard.   Hate the goddamn rain, everything gets so slimy with moss and mold.  The new Paris Hilton show is delightfully horrid, the fine folks over at TWOP take the piss out of it heartily.  Best new show so far is Joan of Arcadia, help it stick around by voting here.

Saturday Nov.29  Once again the twisted Christmas flash games are popping up like demented decorations.  All delightful examples will be referenced above.  For those of you who've always wondered how AOL got so big for such a horrible service, this might explain it.

Saturday Nov.23  Found another great site for aviation history, and it has a good section on engines.  This was located after an ebay auction piqued my curiosity.  What a wonderful artifact that would be, eh?  Not real practical, it weighs over a ton, and if it could be made to run would gulp huge quantities of 145 octane avgas.  40th anniversary of LBJ having JFK killed, and Michael Jackson tripping over his dick, again.   Favorite MJ joke at the moment: What's black and comes in a small white can?

Tuesday Nov.11  As featured on Rick's show today, Lake Oswego man grows tomacco plant.  Why would someone produce a tomato that will kill you within seconds of eating...?  Because it can be done.  Another Simpsons life-imitates-art moments.  Oh, the Paris Hilton sex viddy is out there, if you know how to look for it.

Saturday Oct.18  Must Read Article: How Israeli Terrorism &American Treason Caused
The September 11 Attacks

Tuesday Oct.07  Look what I found, Judy Collins is coming to town!  On a completely opposite note, Thurs. the 30th is the second annual Rick Emerson Halloween listener party in La Center, WA.

Sunday Sept. 28  Yeah, I know.  Long time no update.  Just a quick note to remind everyone that Speilberg's miniseries Taken is starting again tonight at 2100 on Sci-Fi channel, every Sunday for next 10 weeks.  This was a fantastic show, sweeping ufo abduction saga spanning generations.

Saturday Aug.23  Another Saturday night listening to Kim on BFR   Good stuff.  Got a couple new links up on the link page; this new version of Front Page isn't as easy to make links with.  Might be time to change to Dreamweaver, heard a lot of good stuff about that one

Thursday Aug.21  Here is an  online petition urging congress not to enact the patriot act II, which effectively destroys what constitutional freedoms that the original patriot act didn't ruin.  Be advised that by viewing the offending document, Donald Rumsfeld will,  in all likelihood, consider you a terrorist.  For those of you who enjoy a good game of darts, you'll like this one.  Goes well with the  billiard game here.  Need shockwave  for that one.  One of these days I need to put all the flash games on their own page.

Wednesday Aug.06  First update with the new computer.  It takes a lot of time and effort to get everything situated the way you're used to when setting up a new machine.  Things look a bit different in XP, and I don't miss the system freeze/reboot sequence about 17 times a day.    Also nice not to have to run clean sweep every day to keep enough disk space open for swap files, have tons of room now.  Found out that its not a good idea to cut and paste stuff you want off the old computer -- lost a whole cd of mp3s because of a bad fat table on the disk; if I'd have used copy, they'd still be on the old c: drive.  'Bout 160 or so files, G thru P.  Always, always, always leave yourself a backup in case something fucks up, cause if you don't, it will.

Sunday Aug.03  First off, a link I promised someone quite a while ago, Rugermags.com is your one stop shopping for high capacity 10/22 magazines, including the coveted Mitchell teardrop, which everyone should have a couple if for no other reason than so many people believe you shouldn't own these.  You won't find these cheaper on AuctionArms or Gunbroker, they usually go pretty high.  There is a wonderful review of the new Jennifer Lopez movie, which did quite poorly on its opening, according to box office mojo.  Not that I've been to a theater in the last 22 years, or I care so much about some Puerto Rican scrubber who was one lucky break away from making a living with her mouth, but the review is so goddamn funny.

Tuesday July 29  Back by popular demand: Teletubby Mercy Killing.  Another teletubby abuse game on Newgrounds, good site for content but festooned with irritating popups.

Sunday July 20  New poll.  Figured the old one was up long enough.  Been having fits over high EGT on the Rotax, would have done a lot more flying this weekend if I could have gotten the temp down.  Next step, check the timing and possibly replace the fuel with higher octane.  Somewhat retarded timing could also account for not getting full rpm at max power; I don't think I'm over propped, so it must be an engine issue.

Wednesday July 16  We've been doing some vehicle upgrading at work and have a couple spares in pretty good condition.  A nicsold Buick, hasolde small V-6, not a lot soldions but a good travelinsoldr, like all Buicks areAlso have a GMsolde van, would make an esoldent traveling meth lab, or it will hold 30 55 gallosoldums of ANFO. [note to Tom Ridge:  the above ANFO reference is a joke.  That is something that people with senses of humor enjoy.]

Sunday July 6  Got most of the computer problems sorted; Ebay is fixed, Clyde's forum is fixed.  Speaking of which, this site was featured on there, pretty neat.  Good find.

Friday July 4  Went flying again today, last Saturday was the first time up with the plane.  Anyone who has flown a Champ or similar tube and fabric plane knows how light and responsive they are -- more so this one.  It is extremely sensitive to relative wind, you get tossed around pretty good.  Lands nicely, even after 23 years I managed to keep everything intact, and my feet still pretty much remember what to do.

On a not so pleasant note, Ebay decided to be a bunch of shithead dicks and suspend my account after I submitted a change of email notification.  I have NO outstanding bids, nothing that I've won and haven't paid for, absolutely NO bad feedback.  The only thing I've done in the past month is submit an email change.  Whoremasters. Cock-knockers.

Here is a new site, brand new in fact, that is dedicated to fucking with the record companies since they announced their intention of prosecuting some of the more, shall we say, enthusiastic purveyors of mp3's on those [sarcasm] evil, evil file sharing services. [/sarcasm]  I'm sure that they are young and idealistic, willing to fight the good fight, and resolute in their convictions.  I also know that no matter how many people join their cause that the RIAA will not back down.  People like that don't compromise.  That is not to say that you should not join their little crusade, I did and I encourage you to do likewise.  If nothing else, it will send a message, similar to the do not call program mentioned elsewhere.  The response to that was staggering, something like 1000 requests per minute, or a hundred a second; big numbers anyway.

Monday June 30  Comcast.net is the new ISP, everything works fine, got the POP3 and SMTP servers sorted.  If anyone has the site bookmarked, you might want to remark it in a couple of days.  Right now there are two copies on the server, sort of mirrored, you might say.  The attbi one has all the big numbers on the counter, the Comcast one is in single digits.  [edit] The server redirects to the Comcast url, counts are accurate now.[/edit]

Thursday June 26  Finally there is something that the government has done that is beneficial to the average person, doesn't cost us anything, and is fair.  No, I haven't lost my mind, read this Reuters article and see if you don't agree.  I always thought that it was unfair to have to pay to be on a 'do not call list', that is paramount to having to pay thugs a monthly fee to keep your business from being robbed.  [Link is now at the bottom of the sidebar at left]

Sunday June 22  At the end of this month, the attbi.com domain will be changing to Comcast.net in a maneuver that is touted as a seamless changeover.  I remember the last "seamless changeover" when att took over from @home.  Fourteen hours trying to get internet service restored.  Hopefully it will be an easier go this time, but expect this site to go away for a bit while I get things sorted to Comcast.net

Monday June 16  We have a visiting dignitary from the AZ wing of the Confederate Air Force.  Sentimental Journey, a beautiful B-17G [more pics] is parked in front of Roscoe's Landing, the restaurant on field.  Swung by after work and had an up close look; when you're used to aircraft on a somewhat smaller scale, confronting one that can carry 8000 pounds of bombs in its belly is impressive.  I think the horizontal stabilizer is taller, and has more span and area than my whole wing.  It'll be here tomorrow, Tuesday 17th, so if you are close you might check it out.  There are only 47 airframes left out of 12,371 produced aircraft.

Wednesday June 04  Got the plane situated at its new home, got the wings on and everything bolted into place.  Looks nice on a grass strip, doesn't it?  Haven't flown it yet, according to the aircraft log it was last airborne on Oct.01, 1996, and according to the pilot's log he was last airborne on June 24, 1995, and that was in a nosedragger.  The last tailwheel entry is dated 9-29-80 and signed by Wally Olsen.  Oh, it was in an Aeronca 7AC which could be had for the ridiculous sum of $18 per hour, fuel and instructor included.  Methinks a bit of conventional gear dual time is in order; would be a shame to bend something first time out.

Tuesday May 27  Needed to update a few things; congrats to Dennis for selling the Airbike, hopefully that nice little Avid will be airborne soon.  Thursday I have a trailer lined up to get my bird over to the airstrip.  Meant to do this at the first of the month, but a very unexpected tragedy took away my trailer source, along with a damn fine friend.

Friday May 16  A little late for a reminder, but Glen Spencer will be on The Savage Nation tomorrow.  We need a hell of a lot more people like this to get this country back on track.
