This is a campaign game about the last stage of the Roman Republic. In it, each player will represent a Praetor, the second rank of Roman senior magistrates, and the lowest rank empowered with Imperium, the power to command Roman armies and exercise governorship of a Roman province. Eventually some praetors will advance to the rank of consul, and occasionally dictator. Ultimately the goal is to amass sufficient prestige to stand unchallenged as First Man in Rome.

Battles will be fought using De Bellis Antiquitatis 2.2 (DBA), copyright Phil Barker, Richard Bodley Scott and Sue Laflin 1990, 1995, 2001, 2004. Abbreviations are used for brevity, and are standard to most wargaming or role play usages. PC is Player Character. NPC is Non-player character. 1d6 is one six-sided (normal) die. 3d10 would be three 10-sided dice.

Please note that the rules will continue to be modified as new circumstances to be addressed are found in play. The zipped version of the rules found on the downloads page is always the most current version of the rules.
