Okay, I'm pissed. I'm aggravated, annoyed, disgusted, and ass twitchin MAD ~
After seeing what Kyle Busch did to a Sam Bass CUSTOMED DESIGNED GIBSON LES PAUL GUITAR! Yeah he won the race...Whoop De Freakin Dah! But to take a beautiful piece of artwork that is not only your trophy, but something that is a "one of a kind" piece of artwork was STUPID AND DISRESPECTFUL of the Guitar itself!
He and his crew compared his actions to (get this lineup...) Ozzy Osbourne, Ted Nugent, and even KISS. Hell, Wayne's seen Metallica and we've even seen Garth Brooks do it. But here's a heads up for you BONEHEADED BUSCH!... They switched guitars while on stage, and bashed a hollow or old guitar that was intended as a STAGE PROP!
They did not take a customed designed incredible piece of artwork from an incredible artist and bash it up! I don't care if you told you're crew you were going to share little itty bitty pieces of the guitar with them or not! You could have Sam Bass bring you a ziploc baggie for you to "share" and still had a thing of beauty and unique talent to hang up in a trophy room.
You've shown by your driving style that you don't care about your equipment, and you don't care about customed designed trophies, either. You are reckless and you're going to get somebody if not yourself killed out there. You take risks on the track that are honestly lethal. And coming from an Earnhardt Sr fan... We've seen some pretty dicey moves. But never stupid moves.
To say that Earnhardt fans were the only ones upset about the guitar, and they were "idiots", was also a stupid thing to say. Sam Bass has done incredible artwork of various racers, and even Rusty Wallace was upset at how Sam Bass' artwork was destroyed. He said Sam understood when interviewed by Nascar.com, but later talking to Rusty Wallace he didn't see the logic in his guitar being destroyed and the flimsy excuse any more than the race fans did. I betcha Kyle doesn't even know how much a ticket costs to get in to a race. I betcha Kyle doesn't know how hard race fans scrimp and save to make it to one of these races, or that we'd NEVER be able to afford some of the Sam Bass artwork, unless it's a diecast.
Heads Up Bonehead! You're NOT a Rock Star, You're not even near Ozzy Osbourne (Lord, that's just a pitiful visual image). All of these comments you make show you're only a Legend in you own mind, and they're gonna come back and bite ya in the butt.
If you REALLY wanted to make a difference, you could have taken that beautiful guitar, added your name on it with a handy dandy sharpie marker, and put it up for auction for the "Kyle Busch Foundation" you started in 2006. Your foundation "concentrates its efforts on assisting organizations across the country in fostering a safe environment for less fortunate children to live, learn, and challenge themselves". Way to go, Bonehead... that was a whale of an opportunity you passed up for those kids!
Karma... It's just out there waiting for ya, Buschy Boy! No matter how good you think you are, and no matter how many races you win...time's coming when you're not as lucky, your reflexes aren't as sharp, or you just get caught up in stuff that's in front of you and not your fault. NO ONE has a stellar racing season year after year. Your dry spell is coming, just like every other driver out there. Of course, I'm sure you'll blame it on your Crew Chief...

I hope you folks got to see the race on Memorial Day! I was awestruck at the full co-operation of the fans, drivers, teams, EVERYONE who did as President Obama asked, and as a Nation stopped what we were doing at 3pm to pay respect to our Military, past and present for their dedication and service.
It took my breath away to see the cars voluntarily go under a yellow flag, then come to a full stop and turn their engines off at the start/finish line. The pit crews stood together in a line all the way down pit road, many holding a flag. An in-car cam showed Tony Stewart sticking his small flag out the window while he was stopped. And the FANS! Lord have mercy, the incredible, unwavering, ever loyal Fans stood up everywhere for the 3:00pm time. It was wonderful! Tiers and layers of fans in the stands stood up...removing their hats! It even brought a tear to some of the pit crews standing together.
The thing that means the most to me is that rain or shine, this compassionate display of love and respect for our military was shown in all parts of the world where they are stationed. THEY got to see this and experience the loyalty, love and support of the American people. Leave it to NASCAR and the Race Fans to show the rest of the world how it gets done! Thanks Race Fans! Thanks NASCAR! Our Military and our Race Fans are a special breed of people.
Forever the Man, Forever A Fan To go to Wizards Original Page, online and fan driven since 1997 ~ Now the Dale Earnhardt Memorial Page If you need up to date/accurate/unbiased racing information, head on over to: Jayski's~ or ~ Nascar.com
We're in a transitional phase here at Wizards, and we're about to pick up the pace a little bit. In the meantime, head on over to our Directory if you're lookin for a specific page. With Junior at Hendrick with Jeffy, Jeffy Clone, and Mark Martin, it's a strange time for Earnhardt Sr. Fans. We've watched as DEI has had to take on a partner, problems with GM will most likely make things more difficult. And it looks like Tony Stewarts' comments when Junior left DEI are almost coming true. He said without Junior there racing, they might as well call it the Dale Earnhardt Museum. Uhm...that might explain the questionaire we got by email in May asking us to rate DEI and the job they were doing. (awkward...)
DIRECTORY
Our lives have been greatly enriched by the wonderful Earnhardt Fans we've met over the years. And those of you who have traveled beyond the webpage, and have been a guest in our home and RV for Speedweek at Daytona ~ you have a special place in our hearts. You know as we do, those days will never come again. To lose Ironhead has truly taken the "hardt" out of racing and what racing really used to be. So I know you few especially will understand why racing is no longer a weekly updated issue.
So browse around, make yourself comfy. If we can give you a chuckle or a smile, or make you remember what racin was like "back then", then you've made our day as well. Thanks so much for stopping by! The Willard Family
If you need to be uplifted, or just need to be reassured, please take a moment and take another enlightened step on YOUR JOURNEY I was just the vessel on this one. D. Willard 2004
Willards Ponderings and Reflections Yep, you found it. This is where you'll find the Editorials! They may be about Racin, they may be Political. Geez, they may even be inspirational! Remember this motto to live by: Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, latte in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WHOOHOO! What a ride!" Thanks, Nippy... I needed that!
