With more than a decade of lead vocals with Eleventh Hour, Kerri Tenbrunsel brings vocal power and performance energy to the front of our stage. Her unforgettable style and versatility in singing have propelled her to the top of the local music scene having recently earned the honor of Best Female Front for a Band by Suburban NiteLife’s Best of the Burbs 2004 and 2005 contest. Kerri began singing at the ripe old age of 12 and continued through high school and college. Her stage experience and vocal training in the early years plus a few years as a vocal performance major in college prepared Kerri with the basics necessary to rock Chicagoland, Eleventh Hour style. After joining Eleventh Hour in 1994 and meeting her now husband and then male lead singer, Kevin, she climbed the ranks as a local artist through 2001. Taking a few years off from night life to get started in motherhood, Kerri is now back and stronger than ever with a passion for live performance that only experience and love for this band can bring. Stop by the stage and introduce yourself. We’re sure she’ll want to talk about our music, our history, her dog or perhaps, oh yeah, her kids.
Jerry Martini - Lead Guitarist / Keeper of On-Stage Volume Control
The profound influences of guitar greats, Carlos Santana and Eric Clapton have paid off handsomely in shaping the melodic style of Jerry Martini. With more than twenty years of stage experience and prior formal teachings with a national guitar legend, Jerry is able to add a performance edge that will mesmerize crowds. As a veteran of Eleventh Hour, Jerry’s talents are pushed to the max to cover the extreme variety of material we choose. Known for a poor dress rehearsal but guaranteed to come through when it counts, ask Jerry what his favorite Eleventh Hour songs are and he’d tell you “anything Santana, any new material or anything Santana.”
Craig Chenicek - Keys / Acoustic Guitar / Vocals / Song Selection / Web Master / Keeper of all miscellaneous items which might be needed during a live show
A true utility player, this musician does everything. Craig is the glue that holds the entire mix together by adding piano, organ, synthesized sounds, acoustic rhythm guitar and vocal harmony wherever and whenever it is required. His formal training and accomplished songwriting skills make him the natural musical director of Eleventh Hour. Craig is also known to keep us running smoothly by being the Weekly Practice Czar, final decision maker on our material selection and also a little thing called Web Master for our website. So, if our site is good, it was a team EH effort. If it’s bad, keep your comments to yourself but blame Craig.
Dennis Murphy - Bass Guitar / Vocals / Bookings / Overall Band Warrior
Perhaps the hardest working bass guitarist in the business, it is Dennis’ drive and determination that best epitomizes the heart and soul of the band. His unique fingering style and energetic (okay, unusual) stage mannerisms that have evolved over the past twenty-five years of stage performance can be considered a show in and of itself. Having performed for years with the great local Springsteen tribute band, Thunder Road, while still playing in parallel with us, Dennis knows firsthand the demands of versatility and is by far our most rehearsed band member both in bass and in background vocals. Behind the scenes, Dennis is a dedicated and spirited band leader that places audience satisfaction above all else. He’s diligent in balancing the needs of the band, our fans and the club owners. Want to book Eleventh Hour? Talk to Dennis. Want to know the latest onstage dance moves? Talk to Dennis. Want to know how to love what you do and the folks you do it with? Talk to Dennis.
Drummer / Neal Scott
If ever there was an expression of dependability it would have to be the percussion contributions of Neal Scott. As a perpetual student of the art and a genuine veteran of his craft, Neal is able to bring professional elements of live dynamic interpretation and an unlimited variety of performance styles to the overall presentation. This dedication to cover style sets the overall flavor of recognition for audiences to enjoy.
Saxophone / John DeRudder
It is with extreme sadness that we report that John DeRudder was tragically killed in a car accident on November 14th, 2006. John was driving home from work when it happened. He was married for 19 years to his wife Jan and has 3 sons. We ask you to remember John and his family in your thoughts and prayers. We miss him! This multi-faceted musician had been a local favorite among fellow performers for more than twenty years. Audiences have seen John play bass, piano, the twelve string or even sing lead with former Chicago bands but he is best recognized as the flamboyant saxophone man of Eleventh Hour. John was a perpetual student of his craft with a real passion for the blues.
