Frank at Work in his Studio
Frank's work has been accepted in many National and local juried art competitions. He is a signature member of the Georgia Watercolor Society, a Juried Member of Watercolor West, a Participating Member of Florida Watercolor Society, an a active member of Englewood Art Center.
Frank is a native of Florida, however, he spent twenty-five years in southern California serving in the Air Force, attending college and working as a Civil Engineer, before returning to Florida in 1988.
Early in his experimental journey through art mediums he developed a strong interest and love for transparent watercolor. His quest for knowledge and techniques related to this watery medium has lead to the study books and videos by many of his favorite watercolorists, such as Rowland Hilder, Tony Couch, John Koser, Tony Van Hasselt and Judy Wagner and workshops with Douglas Teller and Max Muller.
In 2001 Frank retired from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and moved from West Palm Beach to Englewood, Florida to pursue his love of making flies, fly fishing in his Carolina Skiff and painting watercolors fulltime.
EDUCATION
Frank attended the California State University at Long Beach where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with various elective art courses.
