The Friends of Coronado State Monument sponsor a variety of activities for members and also for those who are interested in the historical events and archeological sites in the New Mexico. We are always interested in suggestions for new topics. Summary of Upcoming 2008 Events Lecture series May 22, 2008 (Thursday) 7:00pm: Dr Brad Vierra will discuss his excavations that led to finding the only archeological evidence to date documenting the Coronado expedition’s wintering over in this region. Visitors can see these grow during the spring and summer. The crops are harvested in the fall. Wine and Cheese Party May 2, 2008 (Friday) 6:00pm (Members Only), Wines from several local wineries will be featured.
