PEDIGREE View Durham's 1/2 Brothers and Sisters Here Durham's dam side starts and ends with race winners. There is so much information on the success of his thoroughbred pedigree there is no way I could list it all. As such, I took some of the most exemplary facts and will detail them a bit. But it is important to note that not only does his pedigree include leading sires of race winners and champion racehorses, but also leading sires of hunters and jumpers, and jumper lines that have been noted time and time again to produce show jumpers. Many of the photos below were taken from pedigreequery.com, unfortunately I was not able to get pictures of a lot of the dam lines. I'm going to list 4 generations back for his dam with images, and then go into detail about 5-9 generations back as there are just too many influential sires and dams to list them all. Information on Durham's sire side can be found at O'Leary's Irish Diamond Pedigree. |

OK GOTTA GO Ok Gotta Go had a successful racing career early on, winning $17,700 and retiring sound. She was an exceptionally large mare, athletic, beautifully built, an exceptional mover, and had by far the best disposition you could ask for in a horse. After retiring from the track OK Gotta Go slipped in the mud, falling, and shattering her hock. Despite this major injury and diagnosis that she would not pull through, she was able to go almost two years fighting the permanent affects, carrying and delivering her son, and never having a nasty day in her life. She was even known, on SEVERAL occasions, to jump from near standstills out of her field. This in and of itself is impressive, but couple that with the fact that she had a permanently damaged leg, the height of the gate out was over 5', and she was pregnant, this is quite an amazing feat. I dare say most horses could probably not do that on a good day ;) This mare could have done well as a competition horse, but sadly she eventually broke down b/c of her injuries. I cannot say enough wonderful stuff about this mare, she was truly exceptional in every way. Ok Gotta Go's dam, Si Si Senor was another very large Irish bred thoroughbred who won over $80k on the track. Si Si Senor came from very impressive lines of which I will touch on later below. |

IN CASE (1st) In Case is Ok Gotta Go's sire. He is an exceptional thoroughbred in both the racing and show world. In Case is listed in the top sires of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Oklahoma, New York, and the entire Atlantic Region (CT, DE, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT, VA, WV) for producing race horses. Additionally, he himself was a money winner in England, France Sweden, and North America totaling $149,260. More impressively than that is the fact that this stallion, who is 100% marketed and bred for producing RACE horses, is a leading sire in 2005 for producing show hunters. The United States Equestrian Federation compiled a list out of thousands of stallions in the world with offspring competing and winning in the USA Of those stallions over 700 made the top sire rankings. In Case is listed in the top 120 stallions (including warmbloods) for producing hunter offspring. He is in the top 15 thoroughbreds for producing show hunters in the United States! In addition he also has several offspring moving very competitively up the ranks in the eventing world. All his offspring are said to have such great minds and a JUMP like you would not believe! |

STORM CAT (2nd) Storm Cat is another amazing animal. He himself won over $570,000 on the track but he is most well known for his great success in producing winners. This great horse was the overall leading sire in North American in 99 and 2000, and all the way up to the present year 2005 is ranked in the top 5 for leading broodmare sire and leading miler sire in the Western Region, Atlantic Region, Canada, as well as overall producer by earnings. With a stud fee of $500,000 Storm Cat is no doubt a force to be reckoned with. He is in such high demand as a stud that his offspring are selling for over 9 million dollars as racing prospects. That being said, I don't believe you will find a Storm Cat son or daughter being promoted for sport simply because of their value to the racing industry. However, due to the strong, sound, and athletic horses he has on the ground, I do think it is only a matter of time before they start getting more recognition for sport.
STORM BIRD (3rd)- Sire of Storm Cat. Champion TB in England and Ireland. Storm Bird is the sire of the legendary Storm Cat, but he is also the sire of several strong thoroughbred sport sire lines. He has offspring and descendants producing champion dressage and show hunters in the United States.
NORTHERN DANCER (4th)- Sire of Storm Bird. Won: Kentucky
Derby, Preakness Stakes, Queen's Plate Stakes, Florida Derby, Flamingo
Stakes, Blue Grass Stakes, Remsen Stakes, Carleton Stakes, Coronation
Futurity, Summer Stakes. Most influential stallion of 20th Century due to his creation of a line of dynamite sport and race sires including Danzig, Lyphard, Nijinski II, Nureyev, Northern Baby, Storm Bird, The Minstrel, Vice Regent, and Sadler's Wells. Recognized by Dr. Birdsall in his "Blue Print of an Event Horse" of stallions found in the pedigrees of top event horses.
SECRETARIAT (4th)- Sire of Terlingua (3rd) the famous broodmare and dam of Storm Cat. Probably the number 1 name in racing history, with career earnings of $1,316,808, winner of the Triple Crown, champion race horse sire, as well as a champion sport horse sire. Today Secretariat can be found in competitors and leading sires/dams of dressage, show jumping, show hunter, and most notably eventing champions. He has produced international showjumpers, and leading eventers, and can be found in the pedigree of many USEF leading sport sires. Secretariat has been recognized by Dr. Birdsall in his "Blue Print of an Event Horse" of stallions found in the pedigrees of top event horses.
IN REALITY (3rd)- Sire of In Case's Dam In Essence. In Reality is another champion race horse and sire, winning $795,824 on the track and another ranker of leading sire. I don't think In Reality's fame has been reported to the extent it should as of yet. This stallion has a very strong influence on modern day sport horses. An evaluation of USEF leading thoroughbred sires has shown In Reality as a common denominator in leading dressage, eventing, jumper, and hunter sires MULTIPLE times over. This is exceptional to note, as this stallion does not get mention nearly often enough as a leading sport sire; however, I think it is only a matter of time when people start realizing his proven and repeated existence in the pedigree of champion sport horses in the United States.
INTENTIONALLY (4th)- Sire of In Reality. Winner of over $600,000 and another champion sire. Intentionally was a champion US sprinter and in the top 5 for American Sires in 1971 and 1973.
PRINCE JOHN (4th)- Sire of broodmare Yes Dear, who was the dam of In Essence. Winner of over $200,000 but better noted as a champion broodmare sire and an champion race and sport sire. Prince John left a legacy of great race horses, but again has a very strong influence of thoroughbreds of sport.
AFFIRMED (3rd)- Sire of Persevered who is the sire of OK Gotta Go's dam Si Si Senor. Si Si Senor (1st) was a successful Irish bred TB mare, winning $82,609 on the track with an impressive 45 starts. Her progeny have also done well on the track. I've been told Si Si was at least 17 hands and another impressively large mare, no doubt from where Ok Gotta Go picked up her size. Persevered (2nd) won over $250,000 in North American before being sold to Venezuela as a stud. As such, it is hard to track information on him because I don't speak Spanish. Affirmed is another Triple Crown winner with total career earnings an astonishing $2,393,818. Affirmed is another leading sire, and leading broodmare sire. Affirmed has produced hundreds of winning race horses, and again is starting to show influence in pedigrees of champion jumping horses. Affirmed has several listings of American horse of the year, and as a leading sire.
EXCLUSIVE NATIVE (4th)- Sire of Affirmed, race winner, and another leading sire in America in 1978 and 79. Sire of multiple champion sport horses, with a strong influence in the pedigrees of leading dressage, eventing, show hunter, and show jumper sires in the United States.
WON'T TELL YOU (4th)- Dam of Affirmed. Dam of multiple stakes winners.
NEVER BEND (4th)- Sire of Reminiscing (3rd) a winning broodmare who was the dam of Persevered. Won over $640K, and champion/leading sire. Never Bend was a leading sire in France of race horses and a very influential broodmare sire. Never Bend also has a strong influence on today's champion hunter, jumper, dressage, and eventing lines. In fact Never Bend is tied for #1 grandsire line seen in the leading TB sires of dressage horses winning in the US today. Never Bend is recognized by Dr. Birdsall in his "Blue Print of an Event Horse" of stallions found in the pedigrees of top event horses.
STEEL HEART (3rd)- Sire of Senorita Querida (2nd) dam of Si Si Senor. Senorita Querida was a successful Irish TB race horse and broodmare. Steel Heart was a champion racehorse in England and Germany, and champion sire in Ireland and Japan. I don't have a lot of photos on Ok Gotta Go's dam line; however, the near pedigree includes the racing and champion sires Forward Pass and Habitat, as well as a very successful dam line of Irish bred horses. There is not much information on these lines here as many of these horses stood at stud in other countries. Senorita Querida's dam Senorita Rugby (3rd) was in France and Ireland. Her sire Forward Pass (4th) was a successful race winner, her dam Countess Alberta (4th) was unraced.

5-Generations and Back: For some reason a lot more research has been done on modern show jumping lines by looking at thoroughbred lines that date back pretty far, rather than looking at modern day stallions and their sporthorse offspring. I'm guessing this is easier to track and eventually the modern racehorses will start showing up in pedigrees as well. Since this is where most of the research has been done, I'm going to go in to some detail on the findings and how it relates to Ok Gotta Go's lines. Modern show jumpers have all shows some very distinct lines, including Marco, Dark Ronald, Nasrullah, Precipitation, RockSand, Princequillo, Turn-To, Teddy, Nearco, and Blenheim. Even farther back Hurry-On, Orlando, Melbourne, Marco, King Tom, and so on. It is also important to note that in a lot of ways lines get crossed or are distinctly related. These stallions are not only seen in modern day show horses, but were also a key element in refining and enhancing the warmblood "breeds." Ok Gotta Go's pedigree not only dates back to these influential sires, but it can be seen repeatedly through each line of her pedigree. Her pedigree as evaluated by professional Jim Leary though his study of Dr. Birdsalls work, noted over a 70% influence of strong jumper lines in her pedigree. Several strong TB jumper lines are the French, Teddy, Bay Legend, Rock Sand, Marco, and Blenheim. In Dr. Birdsalls "Blueprint of an Event horse" he lists many indicators of influence in today's top eventers. OK Gotta Go's dam line is the strongest, but both lines have strong event names. In her 9-generation cross she has 39 different crosses to the most influential event sires. Most notably 2xCount Fleet, 3xNasrullah, 2xNative Dancer, 7xNearco, 3xHyperion, 2xMahmoud, 3xPrincequillo, 2xWar Relic, 2xTurn-To, and 2xRoyal Charger. More importantly these crosses are more often closer in the pedigree rather than farther back. Ok Gotta Go's Dam, when looking at show jumper lines through the 9th generation, has the strongest influence of Teddy lines (44 crosses), French Grey/Dollar (34), and Bay Legend (18), followed by a Rock Sand/Blenheim equal split (15) and lastly Marco (5). Ok Gotta Go's Sire, when doing the same analysis, is broken down by Rock Sand (35), Teddy (25), French (23), Marco (16), Bay Ronald (12), and Blenheim (11). When combining the 2 this gives a very strong split of all the top jumper lines with crosses to Teddy (69 times), the French lines (57), Rock Sand (50), Bay Ronald (30), Blenheim (26), and Marco (21). I should also note I only took the sires/dams from those lines as listed in Birdsalls work as leading showjumper lines. She has additional crosses to those lines in her pedigree through race sires, and when going beyond 9 generations there is just too much for me to try and calculate. She has crosses to the notable stallions Son-In-Law(x2), Dark Ronald (x6), and Precipitation which can both be found as foundation sires for warmblood breeding. Ok Gotta Go has phenomenal show jumping lines, eventing lines, and more importantly these sport horse lines are seen from 1st generation on, unlike many modern broodmares where the lines often don't start for 6 or more generations back.
