Base ID's as "one" on Channel 1 and "two" on Channel 2. Channel 2 is used for warrant, licensed, and registration checks as well as car to car communications.

When a 2, 3, or 4 precede the unit number it indicates the shift that the cruiser is assigned to.

Shift 1  (not used for vehicles that I have heard) 0800-1600

Shift 3  1900-0300

Shift 4  0000-0800

The shift designators are used when shifts overlap and it is necessary to differentiate who is on which shift.
