Restoring Old Tools and Machinery

Get yer tetanus shot and a bucket of degreaser!

There's something rewarding about taking an old, worn, rusty, grungy tool (`specially one that you got dirt cheapo), dismantling it to its component parts, and then carefully cleaning, repairing and finishing it back to usable shape.  I find it relaxing.

Unfortunately, there simply isn't enough time to make the progress I'd like.  I think I'm working on the record for "Worlds Longest Bandsaw Restoration," and I'll bet I've already set the record for "Most Number of Handplanes Simultaneously Disassembled and Awaiting Further Attention."

Anyhow, the few projects I've managed to complete can be viewed from this page, and I'll also document the process of restoring a few tools from start to finish.

Have fun, and remember - be careful out there!
