Below are some Windows® programs I've written that can be downloaded.  Some of the programs are plain EXE files and some have an installation/setup program.  The programs are copyrighted but are free for non-commercial use (i.e. freeware).

Wiki Chess Diagrams (revised December 2007)

This is a simple program is to generate chess diagrams for Wikipedia.  You select the piece or symbol on the left then click on the square where you want to place the piece or symbol.  Use the blank to remove a piece or symbol.  The text for a Wikipedia chess diagrams is written in a box that you can copy and paste.  It is also automatically put into your Windows clipboard if that option is checked (it is checked by default).

Heat index, Dew Point, and Wind Chill program (revised December 2007)


The Heat Index program calculates the heat index and dew point given the temperature and relative humidity.  It also calculates the wind chill given the temperature and wind speed.  Unzip the program HeatIndex.exe to anywhere on your computer.  It includes a file HeatIndex.txt with some instructions.

Distance and Bearing program (revised December 2007)


This program calculates the distance between two points on Earth given the latitude and longitude of each point.  It also calculates the bearing of one from the other.  Latitude and longitude can be specified in decimal degrees or in degrees/minutes/seconds.  Distance is given in statute miles, nautical miles, kilometers, and in degrees on the great circle.  Run program DistanceAndBearingSetup.exe to set up the main program.

Factor program (revised December 2007)

This program quickly factors integers up to 263-1, i.e. all eighteen digit numbers and some nineteen digit numbers.  It also calculates Euler’s totient function (φ(n), phi(n) function), the sum of the divisors (σ(n), sigma(n) function), and the number of divisors (τ(n), tau(n) or d(n) function). Unzip the program to anywhere on your computer and run the program FactorSetup.exe.

Anagram (revised December 2007)

Version 4.03. (Working, but some features are missing.) Create anagrams from a phrase.  Five word lists of various sizes are included.  Unzip the program to anywhere on your computer and run the program AnagramSetup.exe.
