News©
THE SEPTEMBER MEETING WAS HELD AT THE GARCIAS. THE EKINS PRESENTED ON FACING NEW CHALLENGES AND OVERCOMING THEM TOGETHER.
New Inviting Coordinators needed for LNW: We are still looking for new Inviting Coordinators. The position can be as much, or as little as you want it to be. Responsibilities would be to try to set up and organize inviting activities (such as “wine and dines” or mass talks) and work with parish reps to monitor bulletin announcements and ME activities in those parishes. We are ready to assist any willing couple who would be willing to take on this position. God is asking you to feed His people. Are you going to share your loaves and fishes?
Positions needed to be filled for the Joliet
Area:
The Joliet area is currently
looking for a couple for a new position of Media Couple.
If you, or a couple that you know has a gift of writing, or is able
to make contacts to local area newspapers, radio stations, etc.
please let them know of this new need. They are receiving
articles written by couples in other areas and would like to see some
of this information published in our area. It sounds like the
most helpful skill would be knowing how or who to contact at local
papers to present the information to
Prayer Couple Reminders: We wish
to remind you just how important a job you have as prayer couples.
It is up to you to get those couples to come to Community. Make
sure that you try to contact them more than once and try to make a
connection with them. Invite them to go to the meeting with you
and make them feel welcomed at the meeting. You are the way
that these couples will stay involved.
We have also been asked by
the Winthrows to request that you be understanding, if there is a
mistake made regarding prayer couple situations. It has
happened that two couples were inadvertently assigned to pray for the
same couple, meaning that couple had two couples there to greet
them. They had twice the prayers, maybe they needed it!
And also they did not get to notify a prayer couple that their couple
had left the weekend before they arrived at the hotel. They
apologize about these errors, but please be Christian in your
treatment of the coordinators. They are doing their best at
their job.
Being more visible:
Leadership
has asked that we think about being more visible.
Wear your ME shirts and name tags whenever possible to invite
questions. Have brochures and gift certificates tucked into
your glove boxes, just in case. Have you been inviting?
Dialogue question for you: “Have we done enough as a
couple to invite others? HDMAMMF?”
2008
Calendars for sale:
We now have the 2008 calendars. They are 10 dollars each. The
proceeds go to World Wide Marriage Encounter. The calendars also make
a great gift for your prayer couples.
