Having trouble
updating Grisofts
AVG Anti Virus Scanner?
Here's the fix

Thanks go to the G4TechTV volunteer Il_Wiccan who
reported it for us and the unknown member who found it in the first place. There
is a fix if you are having trouble updating AVG. Go to the
\GrisofAVG
6 directory or whatever directory you installed it into. This would normally
be
C:\Program Files\GrisofAVG 6. Find the file
named
url.ini. Rename it to
url.old
or something similar. This will create a backup copy in case something goes
wrong. Run Notepad and paste in the following:
[SERVER_NAME]
1=free.grisoft.cz
2=free.grisoft.com
3=grisoft.com
[SERVER_URL]
1=http://free.grisoft.cz/softw/60/fe
2=ftp.grisoft.com/pub/softw/60/fe/
3=http://www.grisoft.com/softw/60/fe/
Actual URL=3
Then name it url.ini and save it to the AVG
6 folder. This should do the job for you. Just use the grisoft.com server
to update.
