The Driver - Jerry Gregg lives in Huntsville, Alabama and is a retired engineer. He has been involved in three Great Races, in 1998, 2001, and 2004. During the first two races, he drove the support vehicle for his friend, Bob Mead, who competed in his 1932 Plymouth business coupe. In 2004, Bob promoted him and allowed him to share navigation duties. (For any of you that may be interested, the details of the 2001 and 2004 competitions are still available online at, respectively, http://www.camber.com/greatrace/index.htm and http://www.camber.com/greatrace2004/.) This will be Jerry's first experience as the driver.

The Navigator - Dawn Pearson is Jerry's daughter, is married to a very patient and caring man, Jeff, and is the proud mom of six active children. After having four of their own (losing one at birth), Jeff and Dawn expanded their family by taking on three children that are processing through foster care/adoption having begun life as drug babies. The family lives in Kent, WA and Jeff works as an engineer for Boeing in Seattle. Dawn's first career also was as an engineer for Boeing, then she became a "domestic engineer" using all those talents to run and homeschool a very challenging household. This will be her first Greatrace.

The Number 1 Fan - Sharon is Jerry's wife and Dawn's mother and she definitely merits nomination for sainthood for her part in this endeavor. Not only is she permitting the use of "her" car, but also she is caring for the six grandchildren as well as Drew, our special needs son to permit Dawn and Jerry to be gone for three weeks. Of course, The Number 1a Fan has to be Jeff who will be handling many of the domestic chores in Dawn's absence.
Support Crew - Special thanks to Dick and Barbara Stumb for agreeing to provide support services for us in addition to their son and daughter-in-law who also are competing. Jeff and Karen will be in Car Number 27, a 1916 Hudson Cabriolet.
Webmaster - Bob Mead will have to live out the Greatrace vicariously this year as he has agreed to construct and maintain our website since he is not participating in the race this year. He also has been enormously helpful with the loan of equipment and developing our performance charts. Thanks, Bob!
