I am a bladesmith. I live in Huntsville, Alabama and was born in Zamora, Spain although I grew up in Salamanca.

I started making blades after my interest in the Japanese sword. I have practiced Japanese swordmanship in the forms of kendo, iaido and Shinkendo over the years. I regularly refine my skills at tameshigiri―cutting tatami or bamboo targets―and teach this to my students. I am a modest collector of Japanese swords, having studied nihonto for many years.

With an innate thirst for knowledge, I took the challenge of learning how the Japanese swords were made and what made them so special. Hence, I started a long road into bladesmithing.

I am an eclectic individual. I have been exposed to many different cultures and backgrounds over the years and this reflects in my work.

I will start off a new project by selecting the steel. I am particularly fond of the plain carbon steels and W2. I also make my own steel by a method similar to the Japanese tatara smelter.

The content of these pages will be changing over time. I will add new blades as they are completed and I will share some of the methods that I use to do my work. Those will be listed under The Shop link. After all, the way I have learned this art is by practcing on my own what other blade-makers have been kind enough to share of their own knowledge. And so I want to give back as well. I strongly believe in the axiom that goes by see one, do one, teach one.

You can read here an interview about myself  by Antonio CeJunior if you want to know more about me.

If you want to buy some of my blades you can contact me or add yourself to my mailing list so you can be receive an email with updates.

Thank you,
