This is a welded cable bowie. This 1 and 1/2 inch cable was welded and ground to avoid any cold-shuts. The guard is brass and the handle stabilized amboyna wood. Oil quenched. Nice and heavy cleaver.

Here is the welded piece of cable. As expected some welding defects occur but those were ground off until it showed a clean bar before forging to shape.
