This is a very special project so I have kept it for myself. Made of 1050, 1095 and 15N20 steel. Folded to about 300 layers. The billet was then split in half to make two halves for the jacket steel and then welded to a core of 1050 steel in a classic sanmai construction. The blade was polished with a hybrid method to create a very nice hada. Poplar was used for the shirasaya and the habaki is made of copper. Nagasa is 10 inches and is razor sharp. When looked at in person the ashi lines and the Soshu school hamon are gorgeous.

This is how it looked after the water quench and removing the clay coating.

Fitting of the habaki.

Detail of the hamon.

Detail of the boshi with kaen (flame) pattern.

More details of the hamon.
