About Hedonism and Jamaica

Hedonism II is in Negril and is approximately a one hour ride west from the Montego Bay airport. Hedonism III is in Runaway Bay and is approximately a 2 hour ride east from Montego Bay. If you plan on going to Dunns River Falls, that is about another half hour east past Hedo III. There is no Hedo I in Jamaica - Hedo I is a concept...it is a state of mind...the "original paradise".

Getting there...
When you arrive, you'll look for the Superclubs Lounge after you get through customs. There you will be able to take the free shuttle to the resort. You can expect to make the obligatory stop for a restroom or cold drink at a local roadside stand. This is part of every trip from the airport, but you won't need to do this on your return trip when leaving.

If you want to get there faster, you can take a small plane from the airport for about $70 per person, one-way for Negril/Hedo II or $130 per person to Ocho Rios/Hedo III. This will get you to the resort in about 15 minutes air time and lands you just a couple blocks from Hedo where you take a taxi (that is included in the cost) over to the resort.

The Jamaican National Motto is "Out of Many, One People" -
with descendants from people around the world, including Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, mixing together to produce the Jamaican people of today.

Even though the island is only 146 miles long and up to 50 miles wide, travel is not quick and easy so it may take you three to four hours to travel from one end of the island to the other along the winding roads.

Travel...
Cars are available for rent if you are daring! Not only do they drive on the left side of the road, but Jamaicans drive fast and wild, with horns blaring and goats running out into the middle of the road! You're surest bet it is to hire a driver/cab. Ask at the resort and they will arrange a trustworthy driver and perhaps you can share a ride with others if you decide to venture off the resort.

The resorts...
Hedonism is known for being a wild and fun place itself, however, though you may be encouraged to join in the mischief, you will never be pushed into anything. If you prefer to lie back and relax, or just watch the antics from the sidelines, no one will try to force you to do otherwise.

Grab your towels and beach chairs early in the day. It's considered courteous to cover your chair or lounger with a towel and most people will respect your saved spot if you walk away. You may consider bringing some clips to hold your towel in place from the breeze!

Photography...

Yes, cameras are allowed, but only on the Prude side. If you want pictures on the nude side, you
should go early in the morning when the crew is cleaning and opening up and there
are no other guests there. They will usually allow you to take some pictures if you
ask nicely and no one else is around.

On occasion, you MIGHT get away with a picture or two during the daytime if you assure other people nearby that you are not including them or anyone else in the pictures...but that depends
on the atmosphere of the crowd and the mood of the security staff as there are
clearly posted signs on the nude side that state "no photography" - basically, it's against
"the rules" to take pictures on the nude side. Period.

Finally, realize that if you get involved in anything on stage or in the games and even in the disco,
unless the EC staff specifically announce "no photography" you WILL be photographed.

Also there is a resort photographer who is around mostly in the evenings or for special daytime events.
The pictures taken by this photographer can be purchased by anyone else at the resort.

Comparing Hedo 2 and Hedo 3...
The difference between Hedo 2 and Hedo 3 In our opinion, is minimal. Any time we've been to either resort, we've seen a large mix of people, all ages and all types. Almost everyone is outgoing and friendly, and seldom are the other guests pushy! The atmosphere (wild or mild) just depends on the crowd that happens to be there at the time.

Hedo 2 is located in Negril with 7 miles of public beach that allow you to take long walks along the shoreline. However, this also means that others can walk along the Hedo beach without being nude - though they cannot stop and linger, they must keep walking through. It is located near Rick's Cafe and several other spots that are fun for getting out and having a drink and meeting other people. Negril has a small town but there is plenty of shopping available.

The physical layout seems to be the biggest difference. Hedo 2 is larger and spread out over more land.
At Hedo 2 the nude side is at one end of the resort and
the prude side is distinctly separated and at the other end of the resort.
The nude beach and pool is larger at Hedo 2 with a larger hot tub also. The rooms are simple, though plenty large enough, with a shower and are currently being upgraded so that all will include a shower massage and televisions.

Hedo 3 is smaller, though there is plenty of room to accommodate the number of guests they can lodge.
The room buildings/blocks are all located in one central area on the same side of the resort.
This means that nude  and prude buildings are right next to each other-
Invariably because of this, it's easy to leave your room in the nude and walk right out to the
nude side, even when in a prude room.
In general, we've found the food to be a bit better in quality at Hedo 3 and the bar service to be quicker. The rooms are slightly larger and brighter with a Jacuzzi in every room. The beach here is small, but it is also private. Hedo 3 is located close to Ocho Rios and many other attractions if you're inclined to do an off resort excursion.

Also, Hedo 3 had the "Quad" side. This group of 4 buildings set up in a square have a large pool in the center with it's own swim up bar and hot tub, along with a sun deck above the swim up bar. This area is clothing optional and you will see everything from fully clothed to fully nude here, though the majority are either fully or partially clothed. This area also has what are called "swim up rooms" which means you walk out your patio doors and about 10 steps into the pool.

Finally, one might consider Hedo 3 to be easier to mingle as it's smaller layout tends to
encourage a friendlier, more intimate atmosphere. Where you can "get lost" at Hedo 2 and
never run into some people all week long, at Hedo 3 you're bound to see or meet
almost everyone who is there at the same time as you.

Both resorts have their good points and there is no excuse not to have a great time at either one!
