February 19, 2005 Well, there is some good news and some bad new folks. First of the good news; I just got back from the Norcal Division's GI Joe Collector's show. It was a big succes. I scored some great items - especially some great Knock-off stuff from the 70s still in the package - Yes, I collect Knock-off stuff also. More good news, the Norcal Division announced that they are, for the first time ever, going to hold another show in the fall on September 17 of this year. That was also great news as there is a definite gap there that needed to be filled. Now for the BAD news; As I already informed you, Hasbro is discontinuing the 12 inch GI Joe line. But, they have also now announced that they are coming out with an 8 inch line now (Hello..Super Joe anybody?). Now, it is supposed to have some tie-in with the Real American Heroes line which I guess is okay although I was never much of a fan of that line. The Good news about the new line is that it is going to have a new tie-in animated series on Saturday mornings. The bad news about this is that it appears that it is going to be more of an Anime style series. Meaning none of the cool raw stuff we saw with the RAH series. To see Hasbro's announcement of the new line, click on the link below. Also, there is an email contact on that page. If you have any comments on this line...good or bad, please let them know. http://www.hasbro.com/media/pl/page.release/dn/default.cfm?release=349 February 17, 2005 Pictures are starting to come in form Toy Fair. Can't find any news items on this however, it is common knowledge in the Joe community now.
February 4, 2005 Lock up your Joes!!! The terrorists are out to get them!! Seriously though, I am glad that the soldier reportedly captured by the insurgents in Iraq this week turned out to be a Dragon action figure. Either this is a gag or somebody has seriously insulted our intelligence. Let them take Bulletman next time...Oh, wait, I don't want to offend the D.O.B. guys.Strike that!
