Ricochet Skid Plate Project
by Utah Sport Cycle
Mike, from Utah Sport Cycle. The Project Engineer.
The almost finished center section. They are going to add some drain holes. I think this done in one piece is a superb idea.
Mike fitting the nose piece.
The nose peice. Looks great, however, just a little too long. A couple trips to the belt grinder and it fit perfect.
The nose piece comes up just under the fairlead.
L-bracket tabs with captive lock-nuts for mounting the center plate
This is the final cut of the center plate, fresh off the CNC machine. With oil change access hole, and drain holes that match the foot wells on the Outlander.
Full length finished product. Only the front peices that are visible will be anodized.
Reinforced nose!! Can it get any better?
The A-Arm Cover. Don kept the drain holes at a miniumum to keep from snagging stuff.
Back on the ground. Looking good. Great coverage of all vital parts.
Don had four guys stand on the front of the Outlander and bottom out the suspension. The Brakes do not hit the skids. Very nicely protected.
View of the drains through the footwells.
Rear view. The rear skid is simply a channel to protect the frame.
Don and Mike of Utah SportCycle, putting on the finishing touches.
Waiting to get on the trailer. Getting snowed on.
At Home. Complete with some advertisement.
Simply a work of Art
