Storm Crow Medium Mech

The 55 ton Stormcrow medium mech features an abundance of weapons to cover almost all ranges of engagement. A single LRM-9 battery allows first contact. Four medium ER lasers cover the middle range, while two small ER lasers, dual machine guns, and a split Streak SRM-4 battery handle the short range. Speed and manuverability are assured with a big engine mounted on long legs.

With its good speed and agility, and a wide variety of weapons, the only glaring drawback to the Stormcrow is rather modest armor. Stormcrow pilots have to remind themselves that they are in a medium mech, so as not to be suckered into a slugging match with a larger, heavier mech.

Builder Notes

On this mech I experimented with the Star wars click hinges in the legs. The only place these parts worked well was in the ankles, and only because this mech is very well balanced. For the knees, I had to revert to the tried-and-true pin and block joint, as the click hinge detents were too weak.
