King Blossom Farm - Grantham, N.H.

King Blossom Farm was established in 1983 when we purchased the property
and took up residence at Christmas time. The land included an 80 year old
neglected apple orchard, various other fuit trees, and a large raspberry planting.
We knew little about managing apples, pears, cherries, and plums and soon
found the help and advice we needed. The first year was hardly rewarding as
far as a saleable crop, but the trees were responding to our care.

What about the name?

One of the things that appealed to us when we first saw this property was the
fact that it included an  old apple orchard. As we would soon learn, a common apple
blossom is really a cluster of six flowers, one in the middle with five encircling it.
The one in the middle opens first and is called the king blossom. It seemed like a
good name for a fruit farm.
