Requesting Plans from Committees

The Community  Congregation

MINISTRY FOR LIFESPAN LEARNING

200X

Congregational Covenant Statement:  To support members of the congregation in lifelong spiritual growth, to promote democratic processes and justice in all human relationships, to manifest the UU Principles and Practices in our lives and in our communities, and to encourage others to share in our liberal religious values.

Committee Mission:  To assist adults in the church and in the larger community in developing their spiritual awareness, their self understanding, and their relationship capabilities.

Board Comments:  The Board has adopted an expected growth rate for planning purposes.  We currently have 218 pledge units and 293 members.  Within three years we expect to have 250 pledge units and nearly 350 members.  Part of that growth will result from the continuation and expansion of the fine work your committee has been doing with Lifespan Learning offerings.

How will your committee be affected  by our growth?

What do you need to do to be successful in helping adults discover and develop their faith?  What can we do to make our Lifespan Learning programs attractive to visitors?

Committee Response and Plans:  (Most committees will feel better about communicating their plans if they are given an opportunity to describe them verbally.  Do not make the mistake of thinking that because you want numbers, numbers are all you should ask for.  Do not allow them to think that because you want numbers, numbers are all you need.)
