Transcending to Zero Point – Shifting Our Perspective on Life’s Issues

The Fourth and Final Article on Healing Therapy Using the Quantum Metaphor

©Craig R. Lang  CHt

The daily life path of each of us can be full of bumps and pot-holes.  Each of us experiences challenges – perhaps greater, perhaps lesser, at any given time.  We may feel trapped, or we may feel as if the Universe is dishing out more than we can handle.  We may sometimes even feel that there is a lack of hope for the future as we watch events unfold around us.  But once again, as we saw in our previous articles, these bumps in the road could be part of a reality which we ourselves, have created by our own perceptions.  In that case, perhaps we can change our reality by simply rising above the bumps.  Perhaps we can allow ourselves to see them in a new way, seeing that the bumps are just things, energy in the zero-point field.  So once again, perhaps we can reshape our own reality more to our own liking.

In the last several articles we examined the idea that thoughts and emotions are energy.  We then experimented with the idea that conflict could be thought of simply as gridlock between energy patterns.  We explored the basis for these within the Quantum Metaphor, as described in the book “Quantum Consciousness” by Steven Wolinski.  We have conducted experiments to explore and defuse issues.  In this article we will put some of our discoveries together – combining what we have learned in the last three articles.

In meditation, we often speak of mindfulness – transcending our daily issues, a divine detachment from which we can merely observe - and “just be”.  But how does one reach such as state?  How can we set into our consciousness the truth that we are more than the affairs of the material world?  Let’s look at how we can again employ the quantum metaphor to gain perspective – to observe and to know that we are more than just the reality of the bumps in the road.

Before we begin, let me recount an experience which I had a couple of years ago, when I needed considerable help to get through a difficult time in my life.  That particular time was one when significant issues with my job weighed heavily on my soul.  It was also a time when I was trying to get my hypnotherapy practice started, and also when depression seemed always to be lurking just around the corner.  After several months of this, I sought out the help of a close friend of mine, who is an excellent hypnotherapist.  He conducted several sessions with me, which greatly helped with the problem.  During one session in particular, we did extensive work with a therapy modality called ego-state (or parts) work, in which one addresses different conflicting parts of the mind to resolve the differences between them.  In this session I found that there were several different ego states which were in conflict, resulting in the issues I was experiencing.  With his expert help we were able to set the conflicting ego states to on the road toward resolution.

Some time later, while I was meditating, I saw in my imagination, my own higher self rising above the ego states which we had earlier addressed.  I could see each issue in relation to the others, and how each contributed to the difficult reality I had been experiencing.  Furthermore, I was able to see that each of us is more than our issues - that fundamentally, “I Am”.  From that point on, although there were still lots of challenges ahead, I felt better able to maintain a perspective on them.  Several years later, as I read Dr. Wolinski’s book, I began to understand what had occurred – and how, using the Quantum Metaphor, we can do this same thing to transcend the day to day problems of life.

So let’s look at a process by which we can gain perspective on many of the issues of life.  The experiment that follows is another one derived from the exercises in “Quantum Consciousness”.  I have found this process to be very useful to help me quiet my mind and put life’s issues behind me when I meditate.

So let’s again get comfortable and allow ourselves to experience the freedom of meditative trance.  But first, let’s experiment with our ability to reach a state of mindfulness.

*      Once again, let’s allow our eyes to comfortably close.

*      Take a deep breath and release it, and then another one, and another one.

*      Each time, feel free to notice the space between breaths – and allow yourself to focus on them.

*      Allow this to guide you deeper into another deeper aspect of your own consciousness, the indeterminate wave-like nature of the zero-point.

*      Relax in this state and allow yourself to transcend the thoughts and concerns on your mind.

Now let’s see how we can use this mindful state to rise above the bumps and pot-holes of daily life.

*      From your transcendent state, allow yourself to observe a past reality where life seemed to be difficult.

*      Merge with it and allow the sense of it to fill your awareness.  Recall how overwhelmed by life you may have been at that time, as you allow yourself to experience that reality for a few moments.

*      Take a few moments to perhaps recall lessons that it taught you in the past – to learn or relearn them in the present moment.

*      Stepping away from that pattern, allow yourself to see it from a distance.  What does it look like?

*      Observe that while you were experiencing the problem, your own consciousness was fully part of that reality - but now you are beyond it.  Know that it may be important, but it is not you…

*      Allow that reality pattern to shrink away and to become just one of many possible patterns within your mind-field.

*      Also note the space between those realities – this is the zero-point, from which realities and thought-things arise.

*      Take a moment to watch these realities materialize and de-materialize as you continue to observe them.

*      Allow the reality you had previously experienced to dissolve back into the background from which it came.

*      From this mindful place, notice how much more serene life feels.

*      Take a few moments to enjoy the freedom that comes from just being within the zero-point field, itself.

*      Allow yourself to just be…

We have seen in this exercise that we can view issues from an enlightened, mindful perspective.  As we noted last time, this therapy should not be considered as a substitute for other forms of therapy.  Major issues are best handled with the help of a therapist.  However, we can use the quantum metaphor to gain perspective on many issues that affect our lives, rising above them and knowing that we are more than those issues.  At our core, we can know - “I Am”.

I again invite you to do the experiments in this article as many times as you wish.  You may find yourself realizing more and more that issues can be lessened by mindfully observing our created realities.  We have now taken a key step toward realizing the healing power of zero-point.

Please feel free to explore the zero-point and your own mind field.  If you wish, feel free to let me know what you find.  I would love to hear about it.  Until then, I wish you well.  Enjoy your journey….
