Larry's Las Vegas Guide - Restaurants

In the last few years, I've spent a ridiculous amount of time in Las Vegas - and a lot of the time was spent eating at Las Vegas' rapidly improving array of restaurants.  While I've only had one meal at many of the restaurants listed, I've eaten more than a dozen meals at a couple of the places.

The reviews vary in the amount of information provided - my journal was more detailed on some trips than on others.  Where possible, I describe the menu, atmosphere, service, and each item ordered.  I also try to provide an indication of cost; unless otherwise noted, the amount listed is for one person, exclusive of drinks, tax and tip.

Here's an alphabetized list of my reviews.  Click on the restaurant's name for details:

Vegas Uncork'd
Bon Appétit Magazine sponsors an annual food orgy known as Vegas Uncork'd. All sorts of top notch chefs get together and offer up some great meals. I attended in May 2008. Here is my diary of the bacchanalia...and for you historical type people, it seems fitting that Vegas Uncork'd was one day longer than the real Bacchanalia.

Epicurean Affair
Think of this event as Vegas Uncork'd Grand Tasting Lite. Really Lite. Held annually at the Flamingo Hotel pool area, it features food samples from dozens of local restaurants. Here's a review of the 2009 event.

"Greater" Las Vegas
With apologies to Arizona, Utah and California. Most of my trips to Las Vegas include a trip to one or more national parks within driving distance of Las Vegas. The food near the parks is rarely gourmet, but it's still worth knowing what is OK, and what should be decontaminated before eating. Lately, I've added a nearby urban destination as well. Here are a few reviews.

Bluff, Utah (between Grand Canyon and Moab, Utah):

Twin Rocks Café and Gift Shop

Bryce, Utah:

Bryce Canyon Lodge

Grand Canyon, Arizona:

El Tovar (South Rim)
Grand Canyon Lodge (North Rim)

Kanab, Utah:

Houston's Trail's End
Nedra's Too

Moab, Utah:

Desert Bistro
Moab Brewery

Richfield, Utah (between Moab and Las Vegas):

Ideal Dairy

San Francisco, California:
Boulette's Larder
Coi
Sears Fine Food
Sebo

Seligman, Arizona (between Las Vegas and Grand Canyon):

Westside Lilo's

Springdale, Utah (near Zion National Park):

Bit and Spur
Oscar's Café

St. George, Utah:
Bear Paw Café

Yosemite, California:
Yosemite Lodge Food Court
Yosemite Mountain Room
