Letter to the editor
I recently read the Dec. 30th edition of the
student newspaper, The Tattoo. I want to
strongly commend the students, editorial mentors
and the publishers of The Bristol Press for
their fortitude, insight and sensitivity to
expertly explore the serious and emotionally
fragile topic of teenage suicide.
The writings conveyed respect to factual
reporting while reflecting respect for all
parties affected by these occurrences.
The writings gave the reader the opportunity to
understand the efforts of organizations, friends
and family to identify, cope and offer solutions
to an individual in suicidal distress.
I ask the publishers to please continue to
support future publications of The Tattoo to
allow the public to witness the willingness of
today's youth to become involved in issues that
include them.
