The contest received entries from daily and weekly newspapers from across the United States and Canada.The Press won first place for Best Young People’s Coverage for "The Tattoo."
Chief Photographer Mike Orazzi received an honorable mention for best new photo.
This was the second time in the past four years The Tattoo has won a first place from SNA in the Young People’s Coverage category having received the 2001 all categories award in 2002.
In all, newspapers owned by the Journal Register Company, the parent company of The Bristol Press, won 85 awards, including 30 first place awards.
