What I'm looking for:

In general, I always prefer a used plate to a mint one. I generally want vg or above graded plates but for some of the British or French style plain plates from African countries, for example, I'd rather have a well worn plate than a mint unused one. I prefer passenger plates to non-passenger, but I would still be interested in commercial plates and other ones that are for motor vehicles in regular traffic.
