Games There are 4 quarters per game. Each quarter consists of 25 minutes running time (except in the 4th period in which the last 2 minutes are stop time). This will provide plenty of playing for each player. Again, only man-to-man defense is allowed. The "B" teams will play the 1st and 3rd periods, while the "A" team will play the 2nd and 4th periods. The "B" team can not play defense in the backcourt for the entire game. They can play defense only when the opposing team has crossed half court (there are dotted lines to signify pickup on defense). This will insure that each team will have the opportunity to bring the ball over half court without pressure and run plays in a half-court offense. At this level, pressing full-court would be detrimental to learning offensive fundamentals. The "A" team can not play defense in the backcourt for the first half only. They can press in the final quarter of the game (only man-to-man press). The games start promptly at 6:00, so it is advisable to get to the game at least 15 minutes prior to the game to stretch and warm-up. Each team will play 1 game during the week (unless there are rainouts) and usually 1 practice a week. The games are played Monday-Wednesday starting at 6:00. Rainouts will be rescheduled on Thursday evenings. Practices are usually held over the weekend or sometimes prior to games during the week. All practices and games are held at the Milford Christian Academy outdoor court.
