Football Players The league has spoken to the president and football director from the Milford Mustangs. They have been quite helpful in providing information regarding their conditioning period (which begins on August 1st). Since this conditioning period coincides with our playoffs, each family will need to determine whether they would like to participate in both leagues. The Mustangs support players participating in our league, but at the same time, those who would like to participate in both leagues must understand the NH requirements for conditioning with the Mustangs program. In short, a player must participate in 20 hours of conditioning (2 hours/night for 2 weeks). Should a player miss an evening of conditioning, those 2 hours missed will be pushed into the 3rd week. It is possible that a player could miss only 1, but up to 3 conditioning practices (should their team makes it to the finals). Should a player miss 3 practices, the potential exists in not meeting the conditioning requirements and therefore not playing in the first game. The Mustangs feel that if a player misses 1 or 2 practices then they should be able to make up the time in able to play in the first game. There is a lot of time spent at the beginning of our basketball season to make the teams as even as possible. It is expected that those that play in our league will be committed to participate fully, especially during the playoffs. If you feel you can not commit to the Milford Summer Basketball League through the playoffs, then we recommend you focus on playing for the Mustangs. If you are committed to playing in the playoffs we welcome you to join. In fairness to the Milford Summer Basketball League, please consider this when making a decision to play, or not to play in our league and with the Milford Mustangs.
