We are Nellie, Darla and Isabella from Portland, Oregon.  We want to thank you for taking time to learn more about who we are and our desire to share our lives and love with another child.  As a family, the most important things to us are love for one another, being true to yourself and a life full of laughter.  We spend our days playing games, cooking special foods and making each other laugh.  In many ways, we are like most families, but have differences that give us a sense of pride.

Darla, Nellie and  Isabella

Differences are what make our family most unique.  Nellie is a first generation Mexican-American who was raised in a large family in a suburban city.  Darla is from a small Irish-Scottish family and spent her childhood in the East Texas countryside.  Our daughter, Isabella was born in New Jersey and has a beautiful African-American and Puerto Rican heritage.  We are truly a multi-cultural family and we are a proud family!!

 

We learned through our daughter’s open adoption that families are formed out of love. The bond we share with her birthmother Tanya is special and runs deeper than anyone could ever imagine.  We all share a forever love for an incredible little girl. We want you to know that we chose open adoption because we feel it is important for our children to know the wonderful birthparent that cared so very much for her child and offered the gift of parenting to us .
