Melina Sedó and Detlef Engel teach and dance Tango Argentino. Stylistically, they are at home in the traditional tango de salón, as it has been danced in Buenos Aires since the 1940s, and which they interpret in a very personal and modern way.

Melina Sedó was born in London to a German mother and a Spanish father. So - like the tango itself - she is international. Melina has been dancing since her early childhood (ballet, modern dance, ballroom, flamenco) .  Detlef Engel is German and brings the analytical thinking of an engineer to tango. He pinpoints the source of problems which plague a student and hinder progress exactly.   Detlef´s second angle of approach is through music as a saxophone player .

At the core of their lessons, which are always geared towards improvisational capability, are intensive body work and analysis of tango’s structures. In addition to having studied Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, and Dynamic Integration, they have years of experience in dancing and athletics.  But technical understanding is just a means to concentrate better on the essential: developing one’s own style and relishing the embrace in unison with the music.
